6ft Kerplunk Could AWB be converted to a central defender?

He doesn't look that big.

Internet has him at 6ft, which isn't small but probably smaller than most CBs. I think they'd be better getting in a natural CB rather than trying to convert a good defensive full back.

For instance, I wouldn't really want Yiadom or Richards playing CB for Reading!

I rather hope that they don't get yet another centre-back in.

Yiadom has played CB for us though

Good comparison though, I reckon AWB could do OK as a CB as part of a three but he loses concentration too regularly and loses his man too often in the box to be a CB as part of a two

Think that’s why United do well against better teams and sometimes struggle against the smaller teams with players like AWB

I always thought he looked taller than 6ft. Right side of a back three would possibly suit him.

No, he's never there to get skinned-the space he gives is outrageous.

Agree with BR0 on that, Shaw's defending has improved a lot as well.

Also AWB is a much better defender than he is going forward.

AWB is one of the few tackling full-backs in the division but looks lost as soon as he gets past the half-way line.
Will agree to differ on Shaw.

I reckon you watch TAA more than Shaw and vice versa

...however, what I have seen, TAA is REALLY shit at defending with a good delivery going forward

Wouldn't really disagree.

Real Sociedad's keeper must have gone to the same goalkeeping school as Allison

ah I can see why you're in 6th place now, to avoid the shitty Europa league!

Has the season ended?

You keep going on about positions when there is still quite a chunk of the season to go-irrelevant.
Marathon not a sprint-have you not grasped that yet?

Tough draw for Utd in Europa League. Zlatan is 100% going to have a say in that tie.

Shirley, that was a pen!

The Chelsea players were asking for it when they thought it was Greenwood!

Watching real time I thought it was a handball by Greenwood but another look and I thought it was a pen as well. Hand is in an unnatural position and all that.

All the talk of Spurs and Jose being negative, yet there’s very little said on United, who approach the big games with an intention of not losing, rather than winning

That’s now seven games against the other “big 6” in the league and just 1 goal to show for it (0 in open play) with five of the seven games ending 0-0

Not knocking it as such but their timid approach to big games seems to go unnoticed when you compare it to the likes of Spurs

Manure are a very negative side. Was Penandes even playing? No dodgy penalties so he couldn't pad his stats today.

Another 0-0 for United! All their hard work being seemingly undone and being dragged down into the race for the top four at this rate

Ole’s done pretty well for United IMO but will he win trophies for them? I don’t see it myself
