It's actually a decent site for a stadium, less than a mile from the city centre and about quarter of a mile from the nearest station. Only 1 road in and out though and it's the main access road to the port.

Looks like limited access getting out on foot also - can see that being revised again.

Also surprised they did not do a Spurs and go and topple the capacity of their nearest neighbours.

The Manor Ground, Oxf*rd

Referee'd here many a time. Only stadium with about 17 different stands and nothing worse than being a ref when team get a breakaway in the last 10 mins or so and having to run up the slope!!

I think the idea is to develop the river front and create a promenade back towards the Three Graces and Albert Dock. Maybe they could also run river taxis from the Mersey ferry terminal.

Gloucester City are returning home and to the same ground they had to vacate after the floods in 2007.

They were building a 4000 seater stadium but scaled back plans but can expand. The ground is raised 10 metres to prevent future flooding debacles.

The Premier League club said the Bramley-Moore Dock site will be the "most sustainable" stadium in the UK and hopes to host games there in 2024.
The £500m scheme which the club said will create 15,000 jobs will now go to the government for the final say.
Historic England fears it could harm the city's heritage while the Green party raised environmental concerns.

Not really, there's a massive NCP car park about a quarter of a mile away and the dock road, which admittedly would a bit of work already takes you to a dual carriageway eirher back into Walton or out to the M57 and M58. Probably much easier to park at and get away from than Goodison.

Plenty of city centre car parks within walking distance and for away fans it will be easier to park and get in and out of than Goodison is. The locals all have their places to park locally, parking on a relatives drive or outside a friends house, but if you don’t know the area you don’t really want to be parking too near Goodison unless in the car park of one of the schools nearby and that takes ages to get out of.

By train will be a doddle, get off at Moorfields or Central station and walk down. Drink in town beforehand, what’s not to love? The only time it might be a pain in the arse is if you live north of the city, Crosby way or further out, but then you can still get the train in or park on some docks wasteland north of the stadium that I am sure some enterprising scally will open up on match days as parking.

If coming from the south or North Wales just park in Birkenhead and go a stop or two on the train.

Sandhills Station is about a 5-10 minute walk away too.

There's fcuk all residential round there, with loads of little industrial estates who would love the matchday parking revenue. The area is already used to heavy traffic flow because of the docks.

I'd love them to do build a landing stage and run a matchday ferry but the mile walk along the waterfront from Albert Dock would be quite nice.

I'm genuinely excited about this one and I dont even really give a shit about Everton. Takes me back to when the Madejski was being built.

If you are coming from the Wirral direction, as I would be, a scenic ferry across the Mersey to Pier Head would be lovely. If you can avoid being stabbed or robbed in Birkenhead. I also now have a certain song stuck in my head

The stadium looks fantastic and would give “the bitter Blues” as the red half call them, something to be proud of. It will need to be something special and out of this world to make Evertonians feel okay about moving from Goodison.
