Snowflake Royal Am I the only one who didn't think we were that bad v Brum?

What was good about the performance?

Great set pieces. Controlled the game. Dangerous territory. Didn't give away many good chances.

I didn't say it was a good performance btw. But I thought it was ok. We've played far far far worse.

There were a couple of good set pieces and one led to a goal.
We didn’t control the first half nor the latter stages of the match
We had plenty of possession but created very little.
We didn’t concede many chances.

We also have to take into account very limited opposition on a dreadful run who are appalling at home. I thought it was right down there with our worst performances this season. We were bullied and second best too much of the time.

Not saying you're wrong, especially as I had half my attention on toddlers running around, but just to answer you Q, I for one thought we were very poor. Yes we have played worse but this was just a very poor performance to me. It's not so much that we were outdone and deserved to lose. Yes we had good spells but it looked like from the first minute we just weren't up for it and I could see straight away how the afternoon was going to pan out, and it did. Second to every ball, defence unconvincing, balls going everywhere, just didn't want it as much as they did. Even in our good spell we passed it around a lot but were hopeless creating any meaningful attacks.

Thought it was really poor. Bullied in the air, second best for majority of first half, created little. A good spell of possession second half which never looked overly threatening.

The expectation of a result probably made it feel worse.

The top teams in this division are (on the whole) making easy work of the poor teams and we are making an absolute dog's dinner of them (see Wycombe, Forest, Birmingham).

Yep. Pauno was the angriest I have seen him post match. As bad as Wycombe and Brum the first time around. We have dropped 14 points against Brum, Wycombe, Coventry and Sheff Wed this season.

Wednesday was desperate.

We spent the entire second half punting long balls at a pair of CBs who are 6'3" and 6'4" while Joao wandered around looking a bit sad. Credit to those who actually put in a shift, but we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored. Massive improvement needed tomorrow.

URZZZZ Need to get back to basics now we have more players fit again, biggest calls IMO is the striker position and CB pairing

Rafael

Yiadom
Holmes
Moore
Richards

Laurent
Rinomhota

Meite
Olise
Ejaria

Joao

Southwood Esteves McIntyre Gibson Tetek Semedo Aluko Baldock Puscas

Has to be this lineup. Meite has been on fire lately, glad he's healthy again! Olise is a budding superstar and Joao has been incredible this season!

He's a Liberal Democrat who says the only true way is the centre but blames Conservative governments on the Labour party for not winning enough seats.

Exactly.

Less of the old. Ian. Just pointing out what a “complex” chap you are. If you didn’t go round continually belittling people’s opinions then you wouldn’t get the grief.

All of this is a relevant as we are going to lose this game and probably slip out of the play-offs.

Because the Labour Party didn't win enough seats? I'm confused.

It was meat and drink for their centre backs who dominated. The pitch was very poor though so I think that helped them more than us. As ever we just have to hope we score first today. Otherwise we know the almost certain outcome is defeat.

Think I’m right in saying we’ve only even equalised once after going behind at home this season (Norwich) which is nuts

Absolutely have to score first. I’m not confident

Nor am I...they are a mark up on what we've faced recently and their record in 2021 is decent with wins against the top sides.

They used the loan market very well in Jan

Who is the one belittling here?

I asked a question with a differing opinion, had an amicable conversation with zip and then you jumped in, added nothing of substance apart from a completely off topic and irrelevant attack.

Good job. Jog on.

I think this might be a no crowds Covid thing. There seems to have been a lot of commentary on how X team always wins or loses depending on who scores first.

You'd expect the first goal to be decisive more often than not, but it does seem much more of a thing in general at the moment.
