Maurice O'Brien

His "cheery" sarcasm was what was needed in the very late eighties in our days of sh1tness on what was our only radio choice, 2Ten FM/210

Think he went on to be Chronicle editor and was recently sacked

Otherwise, it's another Tim Dellor from me (Hufford went chasing the £).......sometimes what goes on "off-pitch" is more interesting than what is going on, on it......Tim paints an interesting picture....bounces off of Mick G well too......loves the team

Used to know Steve's Beddow's son Mark reasonably well. He really hated football.

Dellor for me.

Only because he is the only one that has broadcast since I started following.

Dellor leads the poll!

Not sure many on the team board would be happy with this

No problem with Tim, he’s worth listening to and ignoring in equal measure but at least he cares about the club and that’s what you want from your local journos.

For his passion and commitment Dellor has to be right up there - but i loved Beddow.

I liked John Southall, but Dellor for me.

Dellor has his faults but a +1 from me, cares about RFC, fellow fan.

Shout out to the team generally too though - I love Adie and Gooding is a lovely chap and a level headed pundit.

And that bird who reads out the texts sounds nice too. Reet as Adie calls her.

I only learned the above after lockdown though as I'm usually at every home and away game of course.

What was Mike Lewis' role? He got a lot of negativity for some reason, poor chap. I can't remember, wasn't he kinda like what Dellor is now?

Mike Lewis was the club managing director I think before the move to the Mad Stad he never did game commentary or was in BBC Berks as a sports journo type role so nothing like Tim Dellor. Believe at one time though he did have an occasional hour long show on a Sunday on Thames Valley FM where he’d talk about Reading and speak to callers and interview people but think that was fairly short lived.

He might have done the walk to Wembley for the Bolton play off with JM and Steve Beddow as well. Left about the time of the ground move and wound up at Swansea I think. Last I can recall hearing of him was presenting a Reading FC former player’s dinner a few years back.

Cheers Sutekh, my memory must be playing tricks on me. I'm sure I remember him talking a lot on BBC RB a fair bit, or maybe I'm remembering someone else. I'm sure there were chants of "you fat b*stard" at him at a footy match somewhere. Again, probably poor memory.

Anyway I see he was done for fraudulent trading at Swansea, interesting.

I vaguely remember Joel Hufford but I was quite young.

North Somerset Royal My favourite isn't listed. Brian Roach covered games at Elm Park back in the pre BBCRB days when Radio Oxford covered the Reading area. Great commentator who was also a true RFC fan

But what is your view on BBC Somerset
