That is grim news. I doubt very much we will see him this side of Christmas and maybe not at all next season. These knee injuries can take two years and several surgeries to sort out. We have a paper thin squad as it is.

Yep. Two Welsh rugby internationals Ellis Jenkins and Gareth Anscombe had this injury. Jenkins was out for 2 years and 3 months and has had to rest after just a few matches. Anscombe is still out after two years. This is really bad news. We won’t see Yaks next season imo.

This is just a disaster, isn't it? Threadbare squad, soft transfer embargo, we can't afford key players out for the season (and Meite is a huge player for us).

We must hope that Pauno and the Dais can pull a few rabbits out of the hat in the transfer market, otherwise a relegation battle is a real possibility.

That's incorrect. Average downtime after reconstruction is 6.5 months out of training and 7.4 months out of competition. The best case scenario (and this is very unlikely) is three months out of training and another two weeks to regain match fitness, in which case he could be back playing in mid-October. I would say that the chances of Meite playing before the New Year are about the same as the chances of the injury ending his career, although there is a very high chance the quality of his play will be affected. It is entirely reasonable to expect him to be playing in February or March, though of course it is by no means guaranteed.

He’s had a rough run with injuries and of course losing his father. I think we would all hope he heals quickly and can return at some stage next season fully recovered.

He didn’t deliberately set out to seriously injure himself. We don’t know how it happened but accidents happen.

Listen mate, Swift got injured last season without playing, we didn`t see him again until christmas time, Puscas got crocked without hardly playing, and now this,
I dont expect to see Meite on a football pitch this year. its just the same year on sodding year, it just has to change.
