SCIAG OK, I’ll email Dr Walden and tell him that the players he studied never actually existed and that everyone who gets an ACL injury will be out for at least nine months because that’s how long it took one random bloke.

The fact is that professional footballers are typically back in competition in much less than 9 months.

Come back to me at Christmas to tell me i was wrong then, i will be waiting.

Are you Santa Claus?

You're asking if he's a strange old man who sneaks into the bedrooms of Children at night?

I'm no lawyer but I wouldn't answer that question if I were you, ptr.

Didn’t Obita have 2 major injuries over the 2 years? It wasn’t just ACL, was it?

SCIAG That's incorrect. Average downtime after reconstruction is 6.5 months out of training and 7.4 months out of competition. The best case scenario (and this is very unlikely) is three months out of training and another two weeks to regain match fitness, in which case he could be back playing in mid-October. I would say that the chances of Meite playing before the New Year are about the same as the chances of the injury ending his career, although there is a very high chance the quality of his play will be affected. It is entirely reasonable to expect him to be playing in February or March, though of course it is by no means guaranteed.

Rubbish - and that is from my own experience. 9 months is the target date for any sort of return - impact and full fitness, but for a professional footballer he needs to get fully fit. He wont play in 21/22 season.

People are tired of experts. Of course Ptr is right because he's had a similar injury once.

Twice actually, both ACL’s gone. Sporting injury in a professional arena so get your facts right you utter bell end.

He came back from a relatively minor injury which meant he missed the first couple of months of the 17/18 season. I think it was his first game back v Hull. Remember it well. It was the final minutes of the game and he was close to the touch line by the West Stand when he went to ground. He was in agony. I knew then he was going to be out for a long time. It was that ACL injury that caused all the problems and two years out of the game.

Twice certainly makes you more of a medical expert than a medical expert.

Yeah that. Injured ankle but then the acl was the biggie

Tbh it sounds like they screwed up the surgery first time round. Maybe that’s not the case but did seem to hint at that. Had to have a couple more further ops to clean it up

I guess like most big injuries it depends injury to injury on the recovery. I do doubt we’ll see him for much of this season though, if at all

Let's all return to this thread in 6.5 months, 7.4 months, 9 months and the end if the 21/22 season to see which unqualified internet medical advisor was closest.
In fact, let's open this up to any other internet docs who fancy a guess.

I don’t think a foul was given. All I recall was seeing him on the ground banging his fist against the turf.

You're right - the Hull fella should be in the Royals book of infamy for that assault along with Swindlehurst, Carpenter, Futcher and Brown. Got away with it probably because it was very last minute of injury time and in furthest corner from the singers. Who was he, anyway?

Anyone know how Araruna's recovery is going? Apparently he's not travelled to Scotland so assume still injured.

He deleted the tweet within seconds but Tim Dellor implied a covid outbreak at the training camp in Scotland. All players isolating in bedrooms now.
