Hendo It's frustrating, I get it. But get up to the ground early, have some beers up there - they've got good beer outside now, or pop into the Jazz Cafe.

I simply do not understand what's so inconvenient about this. Get up there at 1 and there won't be a queue and you'll be in the Jazz with pint by 1:20

I'm meeting people in town, m8. All organised.

"sorry dudes, gotta go and collect a ticket for a match I paid for back in June and then stand on my own drinking a pint of metallic tasting Guinness in a soulless bar".

Can you not all jump on the bus from the station and drink up there? Think the Jazz Cafe has improved tbh, or you could go in the hotel?

For those that think this is "no hassle", let me explain what happened today.

Me and a few mates have moved from being season ticket holders, to member card holders only. Pretty simple you would think.
Around a week ago, I called the club and explained the situation. Sounds eaasy. I was advised to wait until
later in the week to go down to the club and pick up my new members card, and it would have the Preston game loaded onto it.

Went to the club today. As I am sure folks know, the old "ticket office" is totally closed. The only door open was to the Megastore.
I told the chap that I was here to pick up my new card. He said "no mate, it is all done on-line now".
I explained "Yes I know, but I do still need to pick up my new card".
He continued to tell me that everything is done on-line, and basically he asked why I had bothered to go to the club.
As the froth in my mouth increased, I insisted to him that I had ordered a new card and that I had requested to pick it up in person, as
I did not want to run the risk of the Post Office not delivering it.

After a dreadful debate for a few minutes, he moved about a foot to his left...and lo and behold, there were a bunch of member cards awaiting collection.

A painful experience. So ANYONE that thinks this is going to go well tomorrow....GOOD LUCK !!

Apparently it's most, if not all of Club1871 so nearly 2000 people trying to get their tickets or whatever its going to be at 1pm. That's not just going to be an inconvenience, its going to be mayhem.

Just checked my season tickets and rather than the correct name and seat, I’ve got the ticket for some random in 1871 :|

Seen a few mentions on Twitter of the same thing happening

Surely given the demographic of 1871 the vast majority will get their ticket emailed out and print it themselves ? Hardly any real need to go and pick up a ticket from the stadium....

Summary of club statement:
Wasn't our fault. We were barely involved. It's fine through. 10am Saturday there's no queue at the ticket office so you can all just turn up and get your ticket fine. Cheers lads.

Emailed the club this morning, as requested, asking for print at home tickets.

They've not bothered replying.

For the record, I was at the ticket office at 1:30 for collection and there were about 5 people ahead of me in the queue. I’m now enjoying a cold one in the Jazz Cafe. Literally minimal hassle.

Can't believe people expect an instant response these days.

LoS is usually about 10 days. 5 maybe.

Given that their statement asked us to send a single email this morning, stating whether or not we could print tickets, I think it's entirely reasonable to expect an instant response.

Picked up paper tickets for today and Tuesday after a short wait so not too much hassle in the end but that doesn't really excuse this omnishambles

My C1871 ST, which I ordered and paid for in June, arrived today, accompanied by a letter stating the club's delight at delivering my 150th anniversary commemorative pack. I suppose I should be grateful that I actually got a ST with my own name on it, cos there was nothing else in the envelope.

Felt a bit sorry for the ticket office, they got handled a shambles to sort out

Fwiw got my tickets exchanged fairly easily. Had about a 5 min wait in the queue and about 5 mins to sort out and give me the replacement card. So no real drama

They were dealing with enquiries quickly and efficiently from what I could see

Same with mine that turned up this afternoon. Have you been told what to do with it? Return the whole pack or just the ticket?

Great stuff Hendo. Sorted like a normal person and 3 points to boot. Sounds like you had a great afternoon

Yes, same here. Maybe they just didn't bother changing the letter when they ran out of packs. I won't be chasing it I don't think..

Just to add to the fiasco - the Ticket Office have run out of Member Cards!

Surely there must be some top notch procurement specialists amongst our fan base who have now retired and would be prepared to offer the club some of their time gratis to help sort out their act and show them how things should really be done.
