Simmops If teams like Sunderland, Ipswich, Pompey and Burton cannot get promoted from L1, we got no oxf*rd chance after we get related and lose players like Cabral, Swift, Rino etc
by morganb » 21 Aug 2021 21:57
Royal_jimmyStranded Swift will simply be thinking, play as well as I can and see who wants me in the summer and we should benefit from that now.
Swift is out of contract next summer though. We won't benefit but he will.

Some teams fell to league 2. Like Bolton and Coventry, Burton and Portsmouth. Wigan almost did last season. The same could happen to us.

You have such a small club mentality don't you Ian
Trying to play big time charlie has put us in this mess.
Stability works.
Scapegoating managers left right and centre doesn't.
Be nice to sort a problem out for a change, rather than just creating new ones.
Seen League One, it's not so bad.
You won't say that if we are about to go bust due to a big revenue drop and low crowds.

SouthDownsRoyalleon Anyone who thinks getting relegated to Division One wouldn’t be a potentially devastating situation needs their head examined.
.
This 100% just look at how many teams have gone down to league one and never recovered or languished in the league for years.
Less revenue, less coverage, lower attendances, less sponsorship revenue, less secondary spend etc I don’t think we will go down but we must avoid league one at all costs

It looks very strongly that Pauno is taking us down. I think we’re playing the wrong football at the wrong time with the wrong players. Slow, not direct enough, mentally weak and absolutely no leadership. But then you could say that about every team in the last 5 years.
The squad is wafer thin but we’ve still got enough to do better than we are. But we can’t just keep sacking managers.
I really hope by Cardiff he’s sorted things out, otherwise he’ll probably be gone.
Yeah the whole attitude about relegation not being the worst thing, and a lot of teams bounce back, is worrying. It’s very blasé and a bit naive. No reason to think we wouldn’t languish in League one or even lower. Our fan base is still quite small for the championship and our revenue is pretty feeble too.
FFP In League 1 clubs can spend a maximum of 60% of their turnover on wages…..

AthleticoSpizz Soooo....we stick with Pauno....give Serbias u20 World Cup winning manager a bit of time to develop and grow this shamble sh1t-show into a decent team
Orrr....we hire another loser to be around for six months before getting sacked...Hughton up next?

blythspartan I like Pauno and he’s been dealt a poor hand but we need a manager like Warnock right now. Someone who can organise the defence and mould a team out of what we have. I don’t believe that Pauno is capable of this. Take away the start to last season and his record isn’t good.
Jimmy Floyd could possibly be the answer but not sure if anyone would want to come here right now. I just want to go to a game and see some hope for the future but right now it’s a fcuking shambles.

Why take away the irst 8 games of last season, why not take away the last 8?

At all costs is what has put us up shit creek.
