No. You are wrong. We are lucky to be able to get ANYONE in. We can't pick and choose.

Go on....so you reckon we can raid a lower league club, and bring in a quality striker ???? Not going to happen. FFP is killing us.
If we bring in ANYONE who at else can score goals then we should accept it.

Not sure some folks on here appreciate the dire financial restraints we are under

If FFP is killing us why pay Andy Carroll £8.5k a week to play 15 games and score 2 goals.

Jahmari Clarke can play 30 games and score 4. For about £1k a week we're already paying him.

You DON'T know Carroll will only play 15 games. And you can't seriously big up a player who has about half an hour
experience at playing at this level.

Probably pay when you play and very much bonus based….

I wouldn't bet on it. Players have the power and there's no reason one would agree to a tiny basic and stacked bonuses, especially if they're prone to injury and in their 30s.

He’s a centre forward, Loader was much more an attacking midfielder. He’s also massive and Loader was never likely to win many aerial battles in the box....

Are you seriously saying that AC is past it because he hasn't scored many goals in the Prem over the last few years - there are tons of strikers who fall into that category I'd love to have ... I think that even a pretty unfit AC would be a better option in the Champ than what we've got at the moment.

How do you know how many goals Clarke will score and Carroll will score? Carroll could potentially bang 10-15 this season, ok Clarke might also but that's asking an awful lot of a 17 year old in his first ever season of professional football.

A strikers job isn't just scoring goals. It's bringing others into play. Would Clarke do that better? It's not fair to compare both players as they're a completely different kind of striker.

Can’t believe he would be signed without conditions around game time given his injury record

For a 32 year old centre forward Carroll really doesn’t have that many career goals.

Should be pursuing other targets. He could barely string together back-to-back games in the Premier League let alone the Championship.

Carroll has 72 League goals in around 15 years as a professional. So 4/5 goals a season on average. I do not want this guy in if it means Swift goes. Nor Laurent either for that matter.

Swift s going nowhere. Laurent I suspect might. Forest are still sniffing around. Drinkwater might be the replacement for him.

He’s scored 18 in 50 games in the Championship. If he got 15/16 goals this season that would be pretty handy

Great signing if we get him, even coming off the bench. Awesome target man; almost unbeatable in the air in both boxes; and some aggression up front; we haven’t had that since Jason Roberts. And he can finish.
With Drinkwater and Dann and the earlier signings too; and the youngsters around him doing the leg work; this could be an exciting season ahead
