Autumn snuggles

by Cripple Creek » 16 Sep 2021 14:21

I don't know about you but there is something about the beautiful colours and bright frosty days that make autumn a really special season for me. I just adore the feeling of autumn rain against my face. I love to cosy up on the sofa. It is simply marvellous to observe the leaves turn orange and red. Anyway, as a special idea for Reading fans I thought I may come on here from time to time to share some of my lovely ideas for getting creative this autumn. I have a selection of autumn walks in the Thames Valley to share (readers, keep hush, we don't want everyone knowing about the glorious place we live!!!!), I have several seasonal recipes which I think you will all just love not to mention knitting patterns for snuggly scarves. See you soon and keep warm!!!!!!!

Good post, speaking as someone who has experienced autumn several times.

lol yeah, was going to write “freshly laundered” jock straps.....but that might’ve aroused the wrong-uns on here.

I’m probably 20 years behind events but I thought you were in New Zealand CC?

The original post is like a warm hug! As Autumn sets in and the nights draw in, I always think of the line by the Manics in The Masses against the Classes, We love the winter, it brings us closer together, and I think that is so true of Britain and Ireland’s working classes and the changes of the season.

Football on a freezing cold terrace, floodlights on, seeing your own steam, and getting back to the pub at the final whistle to defrost. You wouldn’t get that if you lived in Florida, that or frostbite.

Was thinking more 24 minutes tbf

It’s rare breakout of humour/sarcasm/p-taking in turgid times

Jeez, lighten up Windymare, it’s a long season
