URZZZZ Red card didn’t help either team

First half was a great spectacle. High intensity, end to end, quality half of football. Second half was poor aside from one spell from Liverpool

Based off the first few games, can’t look past Chelsea for the title. Look very strong this year

Tuchel looks like an actually good manager.

I’ve been told they can get young men to defend and score goals and generally look like they know what to do.

How do we get one?

What a mess COVID is making of international football. Four Argentinian players may still face police action after travelling for the Brazil game and not quarantining as required by law. Those players are also facing suspensions by their clubs for travelling at all. Clubs asked players not to join up with their countries on the basis of the required 14 days quarantine on return.

However, those players who did stay at home are now finding that they can't play either. Brazil has asked FIFA to invoke the 'five day rule' for the likes of Alisson, Fabinho and Rapinha, who didn't travel which prevents players called up by international teams from playing for their clubs for five days after the end of the scheduled international period. Fred and Thiago Silva will also miss out - although bizarrely the Brazilian FA did not include Everton's Richarlison in their request.

...read it had something to do with him turning out for the Olympic side so was 'amnestied' or whatever .....

Pretty sickening injury for Elliott. Why (it feels) always these young players with bags of potential?
I don't think Stuijk went to hurt Elliott, but that was a red card all day - one of those horrible challenges where the defender leaves the trailing leg doing whatever, and in this case getting tangled in Elliott's and causing the injury.

Elliott getting a grown up head on his shoulders though. Applauding the Leeds fans who clapped him off. And then apparently giving this young lad, who had broken his arm playing football, his kit and boots after he found himself in the next bed to him.

Game itself - Liverpool looking very much like their old selves at the moment. Thiago in 'purring' mode, and they'd have won by five or six if Mane was wearing his shooting boots.

Spurs were awful.

The wheels kind of came off the Liverpool performance after the injury. They totally bossed a Leeds side who just let them do it, I'm not sure Bielsa is the tactical genius some would have you believe!

Yeah, I think the managers who cite him as a bit influence look at his tactics and think yeah, we'll do that but maybe tighten up the defensive side of things.

How long is Elliott's shirt? Is Elliott still that young they took him the kid's A&E at LGI and not the adult one at St James?
Real Sharpy's mum claim to fame coming up. The kid plays for the same club as Jnr II but for one of the U14s teams. Jnr II's coach has two sons, one plays in Jnr II's team and the other one with broken arm kid. They've got two decent players and broken arm kid isn't one of them.

Top four stands at United, Chelsea, Liverpool and City after just four games

Always twists and turns but wouldn’t be surprised if that stays as the top four this season, first three looking very strong in particular. Should be a fascinating title race, hope it goes down to the wire for a change, not just one team running away with it

Strange decision to let Noble come on to take the penalty, we know from experience that that doesn’t work!

Good game though, wouldn’t be surprised if United break their duck this season, Ronaldo really is the difference maker

Chelsea have conceded 18 goals in 37 games under Tuchel. And five of those were that weird home defeat to West Brom. And there is two penalties in there too. So that's 11 goals conceded from open play in 36 matches.

Their first 11 has no real weakness imo, all of their first choice players get in any other top side in Europe. On top of that they have a player of similar level who can come in should they suffer injuries. Great squad and I think they will end up winning the league.

Chilwell, James, Kante Saul, Werner, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi was their bench yesterday. Out of almost nowhere they suddenly have ridiculous depth.

Got to be one of the best managerial appointments I can remember in a long time
