Simmops This club is a joke, the owners have ruined us and before long there will be no more RFC
We should boycott the club and protest
Should never have been sold to such unfit improper foreign owners.

A training complex to sell.
Some prime property estate close to a railway station.

Unlike most league 2 clubs. We have a decent academy to fall back on and start rebuilding from. Pauno's appointment was perhaps a sign of foresight by the owners. Get promoted kick him out. Get relegated he's the man.

An academy which will close because we won't be able to afford

WestYorksRoyal What I'm interested to know is whether the owners have learned. Let's say we have another couple of years under soft embargoes under the EFL and then are in a position to loosen the purse strings more again. Will the money be spent wisely if we can get ourselves back in a healthier position?

StrandedHound I’m not sure we’d get multiple punishments for pretty much the same offence, but maybe wrong
Not much we could do once we were landed with Gourlays bumper 4 year contracts. Well was some stuff but we’d prob still been well over FFP
It’s prob part of the discussions isn’t it? If we can show we’re not going to do the same again then they’ll let us get on with it from here
Has anyone breached multiple years and got multiple deductions? I mean I guess it's possible but if you agree business plan and stick to it, would be very harsh.

Why won't we be able to afford it?

windermereROYAL Yes the parachute money is poisonous, making the PL a closed shop of 26 clubs including the yo-yo clubs.

Linden Jones' Tash Isn't the bigger issue the unsustainable nature of the Championship.
The only reason for a wealthy owner to consistently pump their money into a club in the Championship is to get to the Premier League, and then the only way to do that is to try and get the best players and coaches.
And in the current context, they cost more money than is sustainable.
If our wage bill was 50% of our effective revenue, we wouldn't be able to compete at this level and there would be complaints from the fans..
"Spending money wisely" is also a hindsight issue...
Footballers aren't a guaranteed investment at the Championship level...
We need to suck it up and hope we can survive this season and then see what lies ahead....
Just enjoy things one game at a time as they say..

Why won't we be able to afford it?
Because it costs a million or so a year and if we get relegated to League Two, our income will be a few million.
Why do you think L2 teams don’t have academies for the most part.
