URZZZZ Ridiculous decision to let Noble come on to take the penalty, we know from experience that that doesn’t work!

Good game though, wouldn’t be surprised if United break their duck this season, Ronaldo really is the difference maker

Sanguine Chelsea have conceded 18 goals in 37 games under Tuchel. And five of those were that weird home defeat to West Brom. And there is two penalties in there too. So that's 11 goals conceded from open play in 36 matches.

Think Liverpool and United will push them but Chelsea look too strong

Said it before but Jorginho really is under-appreciated, one of the most underrated players in the Prem. His movement to get into space and his ball retention is superb, progressive passes too, very good vision - no idea why he used to get the hate he did from Chelsea fans

For Jorginho, read James Harper. Different levels, of course, but Harper used to get shit for doing the simple things well and not much else.

Without sounding condescending, Norwich are just a bit of a waste of time. Fans must be bored of this constant yo-yoing between the two leagues. Farke isn’t pragmatic enough, players aren’t good enough to try and play the way they do in the Prem but he seems intent on sticking to it. They’re too open and as a result concede goal after goal

Think about the money they are making, they will be sustainable for years whilst their owners and investors earn a shit load. I genuinely don't think they care about yo-yoing. Money is all that matters.

Not from a fans perspective though

Sure, the owners may not care for the reasons you outlined, but it must be pretty soul destroying as a fan knowing you’re going straight back down each time you get up

It’s only 5 games in and they have had a tough start but it does feel like deja vu all over again

A season in the Premier League seeing the big players live followed by winning the Championship at a canter the next season whilst the club gain financially? Seems like a great deal for me. Any Reading supporter would be happy with that deal I would say, we'd love to be Norwich right now.

Liverpool, City, Leicester, Arsenal is an arse of a start tbf. And I think it's also reasonable suggest that it is then harder to get the ball rolling on a season when you're playing catch-up by the end of September, thanks to those fixtures. Last time they came up, they played Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham and City in their first five.

Fixtures were kinder on the promotion before that. In 2015/16, they started with Palace, Sunderland, Stoke, Southampton and Bournemouth, and had seven points from those five games, sitting 8th. Still went down mind you.

Seeing the big players live isn’t an expense for watching your side getting thumped each week IMO

Each to their own but not sure how much I’d relish being a Norwich supporter

I would rather be a Norwich fan than a fan of a PL club who always finish around 13-17 place (Palace?)

I would be quite happy with this approach. Every game in premier league is about survival, every game like a cup final. Knowing full well if you go down you are competitive to challenge again whilst being financially very stable.

Palace might just be the most boring side in the league - since they got promoted eight years ago, they have always finished between 10th and 15th, with one FA Cup final and one other quarter-final to show for their efforts outside of that. They've also rarely looked like being relegated - they have had a couple of wonky starts, including losing their first 7 under De Boer in 2017-18, but in those eight years, they have finished just six matchdays in the relegation spots after the halfway point of the season.

Everton the only team that run them close - since they finished 5th in 2008-09, the club has had just two Europa League campaigns to enjoy, without ever finishing lower than 12th in the league. They've at least reached three cup semi-finals in that time though.

Preston are the dullards of the Championship. Since promotion six seasons ago, they've finished steadily mid-table and only threatened the playoffs once. It is also 55 years since they made a cup quarter final.

Fwiw, our Reading are somewhat of the 'anti-Palace'. In 21 seasons this century, we have finished somewhere between 8th and 17th in whichever league just four times. That is 17 seasons of stress of some description - three promotions, five failed play-off attempts, two relegations, three seasons where we have missed out on the playoffs by just a single place, and another three where we narrowly survived the drop. :o

Not an iota of interest in the PL these days.....but (contradiction time) Brentford are making a real go of it, great to see.

To think, Mad-dog Allen used to have to do charity events raise cash to pay the players wages, they were basically where we bought and sold from and to.....every dog gets its day.

Winston Biscuit Cracker of a game this

That was fantastic
A little helter-skelter (from both teams)
When the commentary team said Brentford would 'go for it' I feared for them, particularly after Liverpool got ahead, but it clearly worked for them.

Be great if they could stay up comfortably this season

Also can I just say what a joy it is to see Leeds struggling after last year's media wankfest.
