.... I'd expect heads will roll if you don't manage to get something out of the visit from Tadley on Saturday?

They've found the step up/across really difficult only one point so far - though you might see Denham or Tennant in their ranks: both always good on the eye whenever I've been down to watch them.

Royal Rother After Windsor's Saturday's debacle a couple of diehard fans got in touch with the Chairman to voice displeasure and offers of help and he said he would call them back. Trouble is, they tend not be overly polite in these exchanges but hell, it's the passion of football I suppose.

Anyway, guess what? Yep, you're right - no such return call has been made.

A good number of the diehards are vowing not to return until changes are made. Whether they see that through of course remains to be seen. I'll be there on Saturday but may be a tad lonely!

A number also made their displeasure known on social media (tagging the club) - the 'keeper came on apologising for the performance and saying they would be working hard this week to ensure improvements are made, which was appreciated.

Not a word from anyone else although the manager has been fairly open in his press interview. I wasn't there so can't entirely share the fans' pain who did go, but although I think it's a reasonable interview in the circs the guys who have made their minds up don't think he went anywhere near far enough. (They did spend £60 to get there so it's gonna hurt, I get that.)

FTR FWIW the “Trouble is....” sentence was a late edit which was supposed to be placed after the comment about social media / tagging - just put it in the wrong place. I don’t think our fans are impolite when speaking directly with the Chairman.

Do the club have a good relationship with Slough Town? Some sort of link with them could help in terms of getting some of their talented youngsters sent over to improve the squad.

SCR v Guernsey was called off on Thursday due to fears of SCR/Gander Green Lane being waterlogged.

I believe SCR are now travelling to Guernsey next Saturday.

.... 'Weather issues' were mentioned and cos GGL was 3G - until they had to relay it for FL , I'd mistakenly assumed it was at the other end.

...as it turned out there were issues in the CI yesterday delaying flights in/out of Guernsey but very probably just domestic to the CI (some friends had been 'grounded' attempting to fly out of Alderney)

....main review to follow later ....

I think there is a decent enough relationship there but I am not aware of any that have come from there in recent times. We did have 2 more CDs yesterday making their debuts, not sure where they came from but looked like they were better than our level.

Windsor 2-2 Tadley Calleva

A point at home to the bottom team ain’t great but we were the dominant team and the lino called us offside on 4 separate occasions in the 2nd half when clean through - each time I was dead level with play and only one was close. Just awful inexplicable officiating.

After the game it became apparent that the officials’ room had been broken into during the game, iPhones, money and clothes stolen. That is really shit.

I think we are where we are because there is no playing budget and the evidence of my eyes is that the coaching is rubbish. Our centre forward has scored 10 goals so far (in a pretty poor side) so he’s certainly got something but he has obvious weaknesses. When the ball is passed to him with back to goal he never comes forward to receive, always waits for the ball to reach him which makes it so easy to be dispossessed and / or very difficult to feed it on or spin round - this has been apparent for a while. Seems easy enough to deal with - 1 coaching session should do it, but no....

84th minute equaliser for Wrexham to see game finish 1-1. Wrexham are 12th in the league currently.

The point didn’t really help their opponents, Chesterfield, who slipped from 2nd to 5th as a result.

Meanwhile Maidenhead drew 0-0 at Yeovil.

......and elsewhere in the NAT Woking bt the 'Daggers' 1-0 and Eastleigh lost 1-0 at Southend.
Grimsby stay top with a 3-2 win at Alty ...and wins for Boreham Wd & Halifax lift them above Dagenham & Redbridge who drop to 4th -
- The Sh!ts won at Dover and hop above Barnet at the bottom.

...was primarily a quiet/lesser cup midweek for the other leagues with only a few fixtures scheduled

I was down at Wrecclesham nr Farnham for a CCL-PS league game:

Badshot Lea 0-2 Jersey Bulls - 'Bulls' look very well organized with a few experienced heads in the line-up.
Previously unbeaten Baggy Lea - were perhaps guilty of overplaying going forward and might have won on another day with a bit more patience on the ball. Were suckered at a corner early 2nd half allowing a free-header on the far post - then undone by a red card as they pressed. 2nd goal around 80' was a fine 25 yd chip over a stranded keeper, as BL lost the ball bringing it out.
Decent crowd of 250 plus on a bracing night

Alton were battered 6-0 at league leaders Brockenhurst in the WESSEX Premier: RWBT shared the points with Lydney in the Hellenic.

In the FA Cup Brackley won their replay 1-0 v Hanley and host Guiseley in the 4th Qualifying Round.

Other 'featured' sides 'out of the hat' for the ties scheduled for 16th Oct :

Southend v Chertsey
Horsham v Woking
Dorking Wanderers v Hayes & Yeading
Maidenhead Utd
v Hastings
Hungerford v Bromley
Banbury v Bath
Eastleigh v Folkestone
Bowers & Pitsea v Aldershot

Bedfont Sports' reward for upsetting Sholing on their own turf in their replay last night, is to host Kidderminster.

Some game for Chertsey there, real shame it’s not a home game for them but then I presume any gate at Roots Hall would outstrip what Chertsey would get at Alwyns Lane.

...I'd be fearful of a capacity crowd at Chertsey - especially that rickety old seated stand - unless they've re-furbed/strengthened it now they're up at STEP04. Was like walking up the side of a 60s/70s funfair/haunted house attraction - no handrails & everything wobbled! :?

Get a full house jumping around in there and I'm sure it would tip over backwards - a bit like the old one's at Highworth often felt like they were about to do, whenever anyone stood up and left the front row!

Glad for the 'Curfews' to have got such a plum tie but wonder what the media reaction could have been like, had it been Jersey Bulls?
