On the subject of the intemperate seasons, let's not forget that the time is almost upon us when some of the little visitors to our gardens will be getting themselves ready for hibernation. Yes, I'm talking about the Miss Tiddywinkles that rid our garden of slugs and snails. Have you considered leaving out some bread and milk (warmed to room temperature) for the hedgehogs before they begin their winter sleep?
If you have a pet tortoise getting ready for hibernation have you thought about knitting a snug winter scarf to keep its neck warm for the duration?
