Brian Moore was fcuking shite though. He's why BBC was the only choice on cup final day.

+1

Great shot the other day of Motson and Davies sat next to each other at Vicarage Road still taking notes. Much preferred Davies, a brilliant versatile commentator.

Sky Sports News breaking news : Man Utd to stick with Solskjaer as manager

In other breaking news, the Sun rose this morning, the Earth is round (for most of us) and fish swim in the sea

If I was the Tyneside murderers, VdB would be top of my shopping list. It's an embarrassing disgrace the way Manure have pissed money up the wall on some of these players. Sancho must be wondering why he joined. Who the hell on top of their game, would sign for them?

Sanguine Slightly bizarre sight yesterday, as United struggled to create anything up front, and Pogba got himself sent off trying to be the central midfielder that he isn't, of Lingard, Van De Beek and Sancho sat shivering on the bench.

Just not sure Sancho is all that really. Did well in the Bundesliga but it’s a different proposition to the Prem. Always pretty lightweight and ineffective when I’ve seen him for England and it looks like it’s a similar story for his performances for United so far

Lingard been strangely underused this season, done well on the select games he’s featured in. VDB a strange one, clearly more to it than what we see, rumours are that Ole never really wanted him in the first place (would explain a lot). Although rather poor management to block a move on the promise of football and then not deliver

Will throw Cavani into the mix for someone who should feature more, quality striker, should feature more he does, need to incorporate him into the side with Ronaldo

One of the joys of that day was the look on the faces of Man Utd fans and Fergie when they realised that they had not won the title after all.
If Tyler had been at Man Utd's game he would no doubt have been morose but in the moment at City he clearly forgot himself and football that day was the winner as he got (as we hear repeated so often and was a special moment) excited about an event that he was at.

I suggest that fans listen out as the season progresses for the signs that I claim as I suspect that this could be his last as a commentator as right-on Sky will probably use a 25 year-old disabled transgender mixed race reality show runner-up replacement rather than keep such an old boy on..

Just went for the most extreme example as the antithesis to old Martin Tyler.
As ever, dear old foxy takes on offence on behalf of all sorts which I find rather sad and unnecessary .

Not quite yet, or at least I don't think so .

I was just trying to come up with an example of Sky's OTT approach where they try so very hard to be ultra inoffensive and right-on-I am pissed off with their constant pointing out bad language from players and football crowds when I suspect nobody cares and lecturing us on anti-racism.

My daughter used to be a season-ticket holder at Reading from quite a young age.
When asked about the bad language at football matches she has always said that it went over her head and she wrote it off as being what happens at football and just part of what is now sickly referred to as the "matchday experience"..

Why don’t they simply put a warning before the game starts of the potential for bad language (like they do before films, for example), then shut the fcuk up

Not the first journalist to air this view, but Liew makes an interesting point about United and Ronaldo. That Ronaldo's individual stats and performances continue to amaze, but that the team is set up for him and in his image, to the detriment of results.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/bl ... no-ronaldo

Separately, and again astoundingly, Ronaldo is now just two goals away from 800 senior goals (currently on 798, of which 5 for Sporting Lisbon, 127 for United, 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus and 115 for Portugal). In 1,088 games.

That's what kept being said of him at Juventus in his last year (and earlier) but people saw his stats and ignored it. His final year at Juve he scored 29 in 33 league games, yet the team were awful as it was all built around servicing him.

I think it was Lars Sivertsen (Norweigen journo who appears on various pods, radio etc) who, during all the excitement of Ronaldo's move here, kept saying he would score loads of goals but the move wouldn't be a success as you just had to look at Juve's decline to see his wider impact
