Odd case this. Hamraoui was attacked after Diallo dropped her home following training. Diallo has now been released without charge.

Just read that him and his co-accused have been remanded in custody since early August - and have had multiple bail applications turned down.

Guess they see him as a flight risk? That's not usually the process in these kinds of cases, is it?

From what I recall, the release of Mendy's name in the media only came after a second set of sexual assault allegations - Mendy had already been questioned and bailed with regards to the first. The subsequent second set of allegations (and charges) relate to gatherings at his house that, irrespective of whether he is guilty or not, breached his bail conditions.

So in short he broke conditions previously by having a party/gathering at his house whilst on bail , so no surprise he is denied it now.

Trial set to be held in January.

Brilliant quote from Eduardo Mendy (just to be clear, the Chelsea goalkeeper) concerning the press in England and France.
He references the fact that the black players are both nameless and faceless (my precis, not a quote). It’s not frivolous misuse of pictures, but a more deep-rooted concern, particularly concerning the media.
Also the fact that those in the press need only have checked the shirts of the players in the pictures they’ve used.
