If our game is still on come the day, it’s almost certainly going to be televised as it’ll be one of a handful still going ahead.

At very short notice, so no, it won't be televised at least not in the UK.

I know it’s PL and Sky, but Newcastle v Man City was moved at not much more than 24 hours notice

To a degree you have a point but It was 48 hours and kick off was shifted forward 15 mins, so likely to have minimal to no impact to those attending (some will have been put out naturally) - those travelling from Manchester/elsewhere will already have been there and unlikely to miss trains back due to an earlier finish time.

If games are called off by COVID it may be late in the day (at most a week) and the game would need to be moved forward either 2.5 hours, or later by up to 4 or 5 hours depending on preferred kick off - or even moved to Sunday or Monday - that would have a much more wide ranging impact so unlikely to happen IMHO.

Yeah, I mean they will only know what games can take place at the last moment - and there's no way they will move the game outside the blackout period with 24/48 hours to go. The only possibility is that they agree to scrap the window for that one weekend - which I can't see them going through the hassle with to just show us.

This could all be academic. We could be playing behind closed doors by then.

No 3rd 4th round replays. Harriers to miss out on full-house mad stadium receipts :o

So, the Prem clubs voted this in. No thought given to the potential financial windfalls that might have come the way of lower league clubs.
Just another sad chapter in where football is going. Shocking.

FA decision wasn't it, nowt to do with PL? Sensible move unfortunately.

This is just following last season precident whereby there are games to fit it already and freeing up 2 potential windows for games makes sense. Expect the Luton game will now be 18th January as a result.

I disagree with binning off the replays in general but they just had to this season, too many games to catch up on already. The replays are always played on a free midweek too, a time when the Premier League and EFL will be keen to reschedule the cancelled festive period league matches.

Alternatively, the smaller club have a greater chance of winning at home and getting another good draw in the next round.

Anyone know the FA Cup rules on fielding a team - is it a case of anyone will do?

Not sure about those rules but I'm pretty sure it would result in a team forfeiting the tie should they claim they don't have enough fit players. Can't see anything being postponed til a later date.

So it should be. Cant make a mockery of the worlds greatest cup competition like that.

Actually haven’t given a toss about the cup for years, it’s already become a mockery with so many clubs fielding weaker teams and even before the last couple of years the big PL clubs were starting to whinge about having to play replays etc. so the current farce just gives the excuse for the authorities to cancel them and when we’re all used to it they can make it a permanent thing with little push back.

Spot on Sutekh. The last 3-4 seasons of the FA Cup have seen average gates of circa 11,000-12,000. In the early 1970s, the average FA Cup gate was always between 17,000 and 20,000.

I was hoping we'd play a half decent side for this but with the Fulham game 3 days after now I can see this being U23's
