windermereROYAL After watching MOTD the ref got both calls spot on.

Whilst I accept that it's not absolutely conclusive, I don't see how a decision can be 'spot on' if, despite a number of camera angles, there is a significant range of views as to whether they were conclusive.

Interestingly, one angle shows very clearly that Ederson kicks Odergaard's foot onto the ball.
Anywhere outside his own penalty area and that is a free kick every time, and that's the bit that riles me every time. If it's a foul, it's a foul and shouldn't need a higher level of certainty dependant on the position on the field of play. (That's clearly not the case, obviously)

Agreed, excellent first 60 minutes but there wasn’t much on either bench in an attacking sense to change the game and I think the players began to tire out. The Jorginho sub brought back control to the game (not so good as a neutral) and the game then predictably ended as a draw

Liverpool really do need some extra firepower without Salah and Mane. Bringing Chamberlain on to play up top was a strange call, especially considering he isn’t very good and that touch in the 4 vs 2 situation sums him up as a player. Should take a look at Bowen, think he’d suit them perfectly although would perhaps be difficult to prise away from West Ham

Title further swings back to City, imperative that Chelsea go to the Etihad and win now

I don’t want to get into an argument about the Mané challenge, but how many times do we see someone who should’ve been sent off scoring a vital goal in a game. It’s probably more of a coincidence but it feels quite regular.

Diego Costa did it three games in a row a few years ago (only know this because No2 son is a Chelsea fan and he reminded me)

Always a delight to see the dippers dropping points!

Am I really going to be talking shit about another team when Utd are starting Phil Jones?

Yes, yes I am!

That would be the England International Phil Jones (just because he played for Man Utd., he must be good).
Easy game at home to Wolves for Ronaldo & co. ........................................................... oh, perhaps not.
Apparently De Gea man of the match AGAIN.

Time for them to buy a few more players?
Bearing in mind that they like those of more advanced years to play ahead of supposed English superstars such as Rashford, Greenwood ,Lingard and Sancho , who next?

I gather that Pele is making a good recovery in hospital and Geoff Hurst might be available.

Change the manager but same old, same old with the players

Almost suggests that the manager isn’t/wasn’t the primary problem

They have a core group of players who have attitude issues. Varane, Fernandes, Ronaldo and Pogba are all huge personalities who tend to down tools when the going gets tough. All of them are elite level footballers but only when they want to be, thats the issue for me. They need to invest in younger, hungrier players and maybe just have Fernandes remain. You can afford a luxury player when they are surrounded by 10 other players with the right attitude and going in the right direction.

If Guardiola was playing 4-D chess with his ‘attempts’ to sign Ronaldo prompting United to bring him back, it’s working.

Ronaldo remains world class as an individual, but seems to unbalance the side a bit and if he has a flaw at all it’s that he isn’t going to be front and centre for the pressing game

The race for 4th is getting interesting

Difficult to believe that Spurs are in pole position at the moment - just two points behind with two games in hand
How has that happened ? They’re ordinary and Kane looks human this season

Win both their games in hand and they’re only 3 points behind Liverpool
Win all three games in hand on the top two and they’re only 1 point behind Chelsea

Shirley, it must come crashing down for them soon

Would add that their transfer strategy is bizarre too. Questioned the signing of Sancho as someone who is unlikely to suit the nature of the Prem and he’s been so disappointing. VDB also. Ronaldo hasn’t delivered but a lot of people could see that coming

Greenwood is one of the best natural finishers I’ve seen for someone at such a young age. Really think they should persevere with him up top rather than playing out wide

I'd question if he was good enough for second tier of Turkish football. Probably the biggest fraud in football and cost us the Euros.

Man United's best player by a long, long way is Cavani.

Only one match but given the fixture congestion caused by COVID, the insistence of the EFL on two-legged League Cup semi-finals is a bit silly.

Was thinking the same when I saw the postponement of the Liverpool v Arsenal match, crazy to have two legs this season. I also think Liverpool should forfeit, Leyton Orient were forced to in the earlier rounds.

Just get on with it and play and if that involves putting out a bunch of U18’s, so be it. Hate how the big clubs are prioritised time and time again, didn’t Villa have to do that last season against Liverpool?

A few years back Liverpool played twice in two days (they played their youth team in the league cup as the first-team squad were in the World Club final), so it's not like the big clubs always get favours.

Er...didn't look like a top 4 team last night at Chelsea.
