AFCON 2022

by Pepe the Horseman » 05 Jan 2022 15:02

Looking forward to this, with all the games being shown live on Sky. Senegal are the favs.

All Ghana ain't we? Their first game is on Monday against Morocco. They're 16/1 to win the whole thing.

Is it all on Sky. Some handy afternoon kick offs for work avoidance.

Have done a handful of small bets to keep this interesting.

Haller top scorer 12/1 e/w 4 places
Ilias Chair top scorer 100/1 e/w 4 places
Ivory Coast to win, Haller top scorer 100/1
Senegal to win, Haller top scorer 65/1
Mali to win, Kone top scorer 600/1

Group winners
Cameroon
Senegal
Egypt
Ivory Coast
Mali
26/1

If this game is anything to go by we're gonna see a lot of goals and a lot of cards.

This tournament really is pure entertainment. Cape Verde through on goal and guy gets whiped out. Free kick. Ethiopia player gets booked. Cape Verde about to take the free kick, but ref blows the whistle for var and runs over to the monitor. They think that means they can take the free kick, score and start celebrating. Ref wasn't even on the pitch.

The commentary has been shocking for all the games so far. Dunno why Sky haven't got any of the African lads co-commentating. Get a Drogba, Jay-Jay Okocha or Jimmy Kebe out there.

Fairly certain there isn't a live commentator on this Senegal v Zimbabwe game. It sounds like someone at Sky has a load of generic football phrases pre-recorded and hits a button to play the sound at the relevant moment.

The game also appears to be being played at Bracknell Leisure Centre.

:D All makes sense now. He literally said "A good effort from you know who" when Mane nearly scored.

I know they've got a few players out, but Senegal have been pretty shite.
