NathStPaul Definitely did. I was just trying to make a point about Al-Habsi. Anyone who thought he was "awful" clearly didn't see him play in that season. We would have been midtable without him.

No one has said he was awful.

Overrated - yes. I seem to remember him being terrible with his feet and there was always a mistake waiting to happen - as it was with most of his career.

Good shot stopper, but that was pretty much it.

What a terrible opinion.

He was incredible for us and deserves a great deal more respect than you are giving him. Shocking.

He was dross. Nearly as bad as Rafael.

Al-Habsi was quality. Had the odd error and weaknesses like every goalkeeper does but he was very good for us, particularly in our play off season. His performance away at Sheffield Wednesday was simply superb.

Gylfi Siggurdsson is out of contract at Everton at the end of the season.

Has he been charged yet?

He basically cut the mistakes out by that season. He was outstanding at that point.

Joao Virginia cruelly overlooked.

Never thought Al-Habsi was terrible with his feet. He was quite eccentric and kept doing Cruyff turns under pressure, but his passing success under Stam was higher than Martinez and not far behind Federici under Adkins. A long way behind Southwood for sure, but he was better with his feet than McCarthy or Hahnemann.

I’m generally a huge Al-Habsi fan though, honestly would put him up with Shaka who was formative for me.

Bayern star Alphonso Davies diagnosed with Mild Myocarditis after a recent covid infection.

Looks like, under unfortunate circumstances, Omar Richards could be playing regularly for a while.

Edit:

Davies out for "a few weeks" according to Nagelsmann.

Good article on the Chronicle website by Benjy. About Jay Tabb, a good read about his time at the Mad Stad, before and after as well. Benjy seems to be a good journo. Goes out and finds stories, in the slacker days. He is destined for things greater than the Chronicle, I think.

Yep, although based on a small sample, he is far too good

Seem to remember players always commenting how he was one of the most skilful in training. Never translated into performances in matches.

Good luck to him.

They'll be even more interested in him now. Scores against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Agree, there was definitely something there with him but it never really worked out here, always tried too hard to impress and it backfired

Really cringey how our supports fawn over him though.

Would pull off a brilliant bit of skill and then play a simple 5 yard pass straight to the opposition.
