Am I the only one who thought that was pretty good management from Pauno?

Dropped Drinkwater. Dropped Swift and brought him on at the moment I thought he should for Dele who I thought was starting to look poor. Also didn't disagree with dropping Southwood, although wasn't blown away by the GK.

There were some high risk, but positive selection decisions. Some high risk and poor selection decisions.

Some positive sub decisions. Some terrible sub decisions.

And overall shambolic direction and structure to the team.

The phrase too little too late is rather apt.

What decision was poor? Or is it a case of lose game = Pauno bad.

What is the longest loss streak a manager has survived? 7 must be a decent crack at it.

I thought his team selection yesterday was his last throw of the dice, and if we lost he'd be gone this morning. Now I have realised there is probably no one there to sack him. Also Drinkwater has been poor and gets some stick, but Tom Dele has to be one of the worst players I have ever seen play for Reading. He literally cannot pass a ball

The goalkeeping selection was poor. It was a poor decsion to sign him in the first place let alone play him.

Game management poor after half time yet again, obviously a coaching issue as it has happened far too often for it not to be something with the team set up.

Lack of urgency throughout the first half, we waited to be behind with 20 minutes to go to change our tempo. We never start games on the front foot and last night was a great chance for us to do so. We should have been set up to take the game to Bristol City and try to get an early goal. We were too passive in our build up play and didn't get the ball into Joao quick enough.

Dropping Southwood for a 19 year old. Throwing Ince straight in.

Bringing on Drinkwater.

Not bringing on Clarke or Camara.

Not making a change at HT and waiting for us to go 2 down.

The entire structure, approach and attitude of the team.

Playing Hoilett central and TDB wide.

Certain aspects yes. I can understand why he made the decisions he made with the team selection anyway.

Our results are coming down to a complete lack of confidence, you can see that by how many times we turned the ball over during the game and the reaction to those situations, in fairness to Pauno, that's pretty decent analysis there in his post-match presser. Again though, he as well as the players have to take the responsibility for this and it needs to change somewhere and it will be the manager that needs to be changed.

Midweek games hmmm, it`s a distant memory from elm park under the lights, the place was rocking and even though we lost a few the opposition knew they had been in a game.
Now fast forward to modern times, apart from beating the leagues whipping boys we have been beaten in every midweek game this season, and the record since the PO season makes appalling reading.
P61 W13 D13 L35.
52 points from 183 on offer, awful, just awful.

Another shambolic performance. Both teams were pretty poor in truth but on balance, they deserved the win. Can see why they concede so many late goals though, we found so many spaces in the last 10/15 minutes and were a Morrison goal saving block off an equaliser

Hard to assess each player given how bad the management is right now but it still doesn’t excuse a lack of basics. Hein was very poor on the ball, Holmes was turned countless times with Morrison not much better. Laurent and TDB gave it away countless times, really not sure what anyone sees in the latter. Ince and Hoilett offered nothing for 75 minutes. Swift did well off the bench, as did DD, but think Bristol tired out which suits Drinkwater’s game more

7 - Swift
6 - Yiadom Baba Drinkwater Joao
5 - Hein Rinomhota Hoilett Ince
4 - Holmes Morrison Laurent TDB

Southwoods been crap. Keeper was fine. Ince was MOTM for me.

Drinkwater was on for our most effective period

Do you really make changes when 1 nil down after a half you probably edged?

Must be - don’t recall having more than 2 shots in the entire first half

Both sides were equally poor in the first half tbh.

I thought Bristol were the worst side I've seen us play this year. Really, really bad.

andrew1957 Not surprised Southwood dropped as we clearly promised Arsenal that Hein would be first choice but I think it is a disgraceful decision - especially as Southwood was arguably MOTM against QPR. I can only imagine the howls on here if Hein makes some errors tonight and costs us 3 points. He had better be very good.

Southwood isn't all that. All he's done is make mistakes and cost us important points

He's a good keeper but no problem with making a change there. His confidence is likely low and being out of the firing line may help him and we needed to change something in the defence - given the options available to change the back 4 i.e. none, GK was the only slot where a change could be made.

Hein was OK - nothing special and not an upgrade but fine and maybe luckier (which could be important) - his error saw them hit the post whereas Southwood's have pretty much all lead to goals.

Peterborough for me but Bristol aren’t far behind, Weimann and Semenyo were a vague threat

Feels like us and Bristol alternate each year who does the double on each other
