JR Could be quite a Valentine’s Day if rumours correct!

It is likely a very attractive proposition for Warnock. It’s his last season in management, would like to go out on a high, quality squad of underachievers, ok commute and chance to leave a legacy as a hero at a club where most fans hated him.

Or, plot twist, Warnock hates us and takes the job to purposely be responsible for our relegation.

Just can't see anything happening, think we have all understandably got a bit excited about a rumour popping up on social media. We are clutching at straws but in truth thats about all we can do right now.

I can’t trust a source that feels the need to emphasise he’d be angry if it turns out to be untrue and also distances himself from the source saying if it’s wrong it’s not his fault. Not to mention he hasn’t backed it up with other sources which Benjy implied is terrible journalism (he heard Pauno was staying for now last night, but only heard it from one source so didn’t report it).

Hmm, wouldn’t be too confident just yet. Comes across as someone who now regrets putting it out into the universe!

Yeah he is regretting everything. I think he's full of shit but I would be delighted to be wrong.

This would be great news, but I think this guy hasn’t realised the enormity of his post. Under usual circumstances people would have just dismissed it as some bloke on Twitter says xyz. But we are so desperate for this to be true it’s gone viral. I’m in the he’s full of shit camp tbh. He’s not going anywhere.

Dodged all the questions over how credible his source is but quick to address anything questioning him as a “journo”. Big red flag.

I take it back a journo who’s usually semi reliable with us has backed him up https://twitter.com/sportspeteo/status/ ... 45060?s=21

Yeah he is fairly reliable. Wonder if he has just picked up in the buzz on the hashtag though.

Could be the case, but as for Jacob I’m giving him the benefit of a doubt as that journo gets more right with us than wrong. We’ll see.

In all fairness, correct me if I'm wrong, it's the first real Pauno sacking story that seems to be generating interest. I think most other claims have just been fan opinions as well as perceptions rather than genuine media/journalist interest. The only other time I can think of anything similar was the reaction after the Fulham game.

Yeah Pete O'Rourke is usually pretty bang on. I doubt he's just only read Jacob's tweet.

Hopefully it is the case. However, I feel as though the likely replacement will either be someone already at the club or another random from abroad. Can’t in a million years see a proven manager at this level coming in.

I can't see it being a proven manager either but in the short-term I wouldn't be against a foreign randomer. Pauno did well when he first came in and Gomes managed to lift us out of the bottom 3 to safety as well. Whether it will work the 3rd time I don't know but at least, in the short-term, we've had decent success with that approach.
