The Royal Forester
Millsy

Apart from the pitch invasion gaffe he allegedly apologised for, the more I hear from Benjy the more I appreciate the lad.

Gives credit to Potter then clarifies that he has heard it from a close source himself, so not simply rehashing his story, which is what most of us paranoid lot including me would have assumed.

Good man.

What was gaffe? Unlike him to have to apologise.

He called the after match pitch invasion 'nasty' and said players were running for safety and there were altercations between fans and players.

This is Berkshire. Spilt tea and a tut is an altercation!

Wizard If Warnock comes in that’s me done with this club.

Genuinely baffles me this view - know a few like this.

However it’s looking like 80% hell yes, 20% hell no - so that’s a bloody good approval rating and definitely the clear no.1 option imho

Zip
TiagoIlori Honestly had felt the bloke’s job was close to untouchable the way it was going. Hopefully we can get a Jose Gomes style revival. With the players we’ve got we should not even be close to the relegation zone.

Well we will see how good these players really are under new management. I’m far from convinced they are very good at all and will be happy to see the back of the vast majority of them in the summer.
They actually worked hard yesterday and showed some fight for the first time in months....frankly that should be the minimum. They have been just as big a part of this mess as Pauno.

We need three simple things.

1) A point of change and mental refocus to help break the losing mentality and confidence issues.

2) Defensive reorganisation. We need to push the midfield screen forward a little and have it actually do its job, keep a structure to the defence and stop defending corners with xi men.

3) put in place a clear simple strategy for going forward.

3's not even that important with Swift, Ince, Meite and Joao available.

Anyone half competent can do that.

I know I called for this as an option but would still be disappointing not to get a proven man in. Still, absolutely better than nothing if true and Pauno is actually f**king off.

This had better be interim manager for a few days until we get the contracts on a real manager signed.

If it’s for the rest of the season, I’d rather than Pauno or Bullivant.

If they are appointing Gilkes as interim manager it would suggest to me they won't be looking for a short term fix like Warnock. If they were then it would already have been a done deal and he'd be at the club tomorrow.

My guess is they'll give Gilkes a couple of games and then give it to him until the end of the season should he get at least 3 points and improvement from the players.
