What an incredibly odd dynamic.

If Paunovic really has asked to leave and been refused, you’d have to imagine it’s on the basis of whatever payoff he is expecting.

Are we now living in hope that Dai and Paunovic can find a middle ground in all of this? All the while we’re supporting a team of players who don’t believe in the manager and a manager who doesn’t believe in himself.

According to everyone's favourite TalkSport presenter, Adrian Durham (who is on air at the moment), what's going on at Reading ("and Paunovic is still the manager there") is going to be covered on the following show this evening:

TalkSport 2

06:00pm - The EFL Show - A round-up of the latest news involving clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two

Unfortunately it’s an ever growing list of disastrous mistakes. I would like to see shot of Yongge but I cannot see anyone interested in buying this circus of a football club.

Disagree with that - the list of foreign billionaires looking to own a bit of the English game is significantly longer than the number of clubs for sale.

To put it another way - it only takes one idiot.

We have struggled to find owners in the past when we were a far more attractive prospect than we are right now. SJM had all sorts of problems selling the club and we owned the stadium and land surrounding the ground back then.

Hard to justify that comment when we've sold the club 3 times in 15 years.

Good owners yeah. Buyers. Not a problem.

It's actually a very dangerous situation. You know you're not wanted long term. You've asked to leave. Boss has said no, perhaps wanting a resignation instead. It's a very cynical view but perhaps there's no coincidence that there's this ridiculous run of defeats to force Dai's hand.... !?

If new ownership takes the club away from our Chinese owners tabloid headline writers will have a field day, and for that reason, and for that reason alone I'd like them to continue

yeah suspect the resignation came with a caveat of a full pay off. Prob not keen on doing that considering the EFL etc and limiting who we could bring in to replace potentially

I'm guessing its something along those lines anyway. Sure it wasn't a case of 'please reconsider - you're doing a great job, please carry on'
