ARE WE GOING BUST?

by The Royal Forester » 14 Feb 2022 18:16

The Dais have owned two clubs who have gone bust. I would be interested in knowing if their circumstances compare to ours. If anyone knows the answers please tell
Did the Dais stay in the background as much as they do here?
Was Kia involved with either of those two clubs?
Did the clubs sell the stadium or any other assets to the Dais before going bust?
If so, what happened to those assets after the club(s) ceased to function?
What happened to the stadium, land etc. if not owned by the Dai's?
Were the clubs run in the shambolic way we are?
How often the Manager/Coach was changed

The owners have already broke two clubs. They own the stadium and training ground. The previous owners still own the land around the stadium. We have zero assets. We are closer to oblivion than many would like to admit.

for what purpose would dai want the club to go bust? the assets he owns? The training ground is a conservation area that used to be a golf course. He won't be able to sell that off to build houses on its protected.

The ground? the Thais own the land around it. so what has dai got? the footprint of the stadium in land, built on top of a rubbish tip.

What's he going to do with his assets if the football club doesn't exist anymore? who is going to buy a training ground and football stadium from him with no football club to play in it?

By letting the club go bust will reduce the value of his assets to zero, it makes no sense.

Possibly. More likely if we go down.

Chances are someone would buy us before that happens but no guarantee.

What would they be buying though? That's the issue here.

No we’ll survive. Our wage bill will be a lot better after this season and the remaining players are mostly sellable assets. It will be painful though.

The Training Ground could, possibly, be sold as a sporting /leisure/conference centre. Was the Stadium the only thing built on a rubbish tip? Or is there other buildings also built on the tip? Genuine question as I left Reading long before The Mad. Stad. was built.

Dai has spent millions and millions of his own money in creating the training ground he would never make his money back by selling it off as a leisure centre.

The only stuff on top of the tip is the stadium the hotel the car park and the training dome. The dome I believe is set to move to the forest school in winnersh/Wokingham

Could easily turn to the stadium in to an expanded Reading gate retail park. Maybe a DFS and a good size B&M. Also could add a Taco Bell drive thru. oxf*rd it - go on then.

Would need planning permission and there would be thousands of objections.

Dai only owns the stadium and the footprint it sits on. And the hotel which isn’t owned by dai is attached to it. The surrounding land is owned by the Thais. The stadium is also a ‘community asset’ which means they couldn’t get planning for a change of use.

Yes, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we do. We’re at the mercy of Dai and his cronies. I have already put aside £2k just in case.

I am convinced we are going to, if we don’t stay up. They don’t want to own a League One club…and when the funding stops, we are screwed!
