Send in the Clowns

(Just Googled the lyrics - just as the players appear from the tunnel it should be at this bit:

But where are the clowns
Send in the clowns
Don't bother, they're here

)

Just read that Gary Monk is the favourite for the job. Other names for the job are also Graeme Murty, Neil Warnock, Aitor Karanka and Michael Gilkes.

I don't see what benefit keeping him ahead of Wednesday would do really, there's far too much noise going on at the club and if he really is going to be dismissed, we'd be better just letting at interim like Gilkes take training and the game tomorrow, even if it meant we hadn't "officially" sacked Pauno yet. The only plausible reason I can think of is something to do with the EFL's approval of changing managers, every other reason for keeping Pauno as it is now just would not make any sense.

Paddy Power odds:

Garry Monk – 3/1
Aitor Karanka – 4/1
Neil Warnock – 6/1
Mick McCarthy – 8/1
Alan Pardew – 12/1
Mark Hughes – 16/1

If they aren't Kia's mate then they won't be getting it, we know that. If anyone wants to make some money then have a look at football managers Kia is associated to and stick a few quid on any of them currently out of work.

Anyone fancy taking the club's youtube interviews with Pauno and adding a background of enter the gladiators then tweeting it back qt the club?

didn't Monk have something dodgy going on with his own agencies and taking cuts etc? Can't see that working well with Kia's own dealings

Top be quite honest, I wouldn't really be against any of those managers, from an experience/suitability point of view. Mark Hughes probably wouldn't join, Pardew wouldn't be favoured by the fans and both Karanka and McCarthy were poor in their most recent jobs (barring last season at Cardiff for McCarthy), but I'd be in favour of most of those names and would back them to do well for us.

Apparently he’s fairly unpleasant, disliked him when he was at Leeds, hard pass

Wouldn’t even be against a nasty manager to really get into the players but Monk isn’t that type of nasty. Snide remarks etc etc, and catastrophe seems to follow him around

Once upon a time . Enjoyed reading the Green Programme comments ( can’t always say that ) , but Steve Hezke was a CB , not leading the forward line !

He started the season at CB (or centre half as it was then) but played up front for much of the second half of the season as an emergency (but effective!) striker.

I think it's a case of he walks into catastrophe rather than the other way around. Not saying he's a 'salt of the earth' manager, but he is someone who has had this experience at a club in the shambles we are in right now. We could do a lot worse really.
