Good to see you’re all arguing about the finer details of a contract you’ve never seen.

Abusing Drinkwater isn’t going to help. It’s seems more and more to me that the owners are not taking any responsibility at all here along with a non existent board of directors
So all the abuse is being aimed at Pauno first and foremost and then the players.

Definitely could have been a lot worse. Some could even say it's ideal as we didn't lose therefore we stayed outside the bottom 3 but we also didn't win which just adds to the justification for Pauno's sacking.

We just seemed to lack so much confidence and therefore quality. Some promising build up play on a couple of occasions and a little bit of quality on a couple of occasions, like for Swift's and Joao's chances, but we just lacked the quality finish at the end of it. But just so many aspects of our game was so poor, giving the ball away needlessly (Drinkwater with some really poor play), not communicating for balls in the middle of the park with a couple of high balls and a defensive line that was caught once to twice looked all over the place, there was so little organisation there sometimes. It's just fortunate that they are worse than us.

I thought we'd have brought Hein in to be good at crosses/set pieces? He was caught wanting for 2 of them that, if not for better finishing, would have both resulted in goals. Unconvinced there really. On the other side of it, he probably did save us on a couple of occasions with some good goalkeeping as well. I don't mind a goalkeeper who is aggressive from crosses and will punch/catch high balls into the area, he did it well on a few occasions last night, but he also got caught out really easily (albeit they were good quality crosses in).

Zip Jnr saying Yids was fronting up to the fans tonight. A bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss from him and all the other players right now.

Don't know if this is lost in translation but he seems to be the only players whos spoken to the fans:

1 min 30 in the video.

Fair play to him. He's one player that in my opinion you can't knock his effort. He cares.

Yiadom is player of the season for me

‘You’re all’?

Ian stated that there were no potential negatives to breaching a contract.

I outlined the potential negatives of breaking a contract for an employee.

He then went on to further support his claim with assumed knowledge of the details of a contract he hasn’t seen.

Not abusing him hasn’t helped much either, and it sure makes those doing it feel better.

This is nonsense.

I've made no claim about the contents of the contract. I've merely rubbished your post.

The contents don’t interest me, because whatever they are they'd have to be enforced by legal action that would be a waste of time, probably wouldn’t succeed because there’s no appreciable loss to the club from walking, and could be circumvented in different ways.

F/ck it I’m on a train journey so I’ll bite.

Legal action is only long and laborious if you don’t already permanently have lawyers on the payroll. I’d imagine the owners of the club have lawyers permanently on the payroll.

The only way anyone could have any idea of the likelihood of legal action succeeding or failing would be if they knew the details of the contract.

Having to advertise for and employ a new manager between now and the end of Pauno’s contract would be expensive. It might not be that expensive compared to the overall income and expenditure of the club, but some employers and business people just choose to follow contracts and use legal processes on principle regardless of the financial motivation.

It's an expense required in a few months anyway. So no additional expense.

No one is going to successfully sue a manager who has lost 14 out of 20 games for breach of contract for walking out.

It's nonsense.

It wouldn’t be a significant additional cost, but there would still be an additional cost.

That second part depends on the detail of the contract. If the contract said ‘no matter how shit you are you still turn up and manage and do not under any circumstances walk out’ it would be relatively easy to ‘sue.’

Now give me that dick.

I've never said it isn't possible try to sue or there's a legal bar to it. I've said no one would. I think there's little chance or benefit to success. And I've already said if that's something you're worried about happening you just get signed off sick.

Saying Pauno can't just walk away is simply wrong. Using the threat of legal action to justify him wanting out and not going is a pointless excuse.

I don’t think it’s the fear of legal action stopping him. That doesn’t mean it there is no legal threat.

I think it’s the money he’ll get paid between now and the end of his contract keeping him from walking.

I think to know whether the club owners would take legal action you’d have to know them personally, and what their historic attitude was to their employees breaking their contracts.
