I still can't think of any reason why the owners wouldn't accept his resignation, other than demanding to be paid off.

NathStPaul He lives up that way apparently.

WTF. Why would you move to the country to manage Reading and live in East Anglia

Pepe said he lives in Kettering which if correct I get him driving there. Not to far from Reading in the grand scheme, probably a nicer place to live too.

It makes zero sense him living in Kettering - like some his tactical decisions. You can’t have a manager that commutes heavily, no wonder he’s not delivering.

Coppells Lost Coat I would say in these circumstances it would be normal to accept the managers resignation.
But i think we can all agree this is not a normal situation. Any football club run like the way we do isn't normal, after a 4/5 game winless streak a club in our position would be normally thinking about manager changes. Doesn't mean they will pull the trigger but it should be on minds who / what can be done.

I am not blaming VP for not turning up but if he has done whats reported he should at least be asking for a hand to gain some sort of control.

Yes, agreed, and that's the problem really, the club haven't accepted his resignation for whatever reasons and he has still yet to lose his job despite plenty of sources telling is otherwise. As you say, it's not normal, quoting another comment I've skimmed past, it's a completely closed book club at the moment. Given recent club statements, it seems like the fans are expected to give absolutely everything to the cause but get very, very little in return. I'm not even talking about results, we aren't getting performances and we aren't getting answers for these performances and some of the practices the club has been conducting for years now.

We can only go off what the media tell us, but the media get it from somewhere, especially multiple sources. As you say, changing our manager should have really been on the agenda at the beginning of January when we were 4/5 games without victory, particularly after the Fulham and Kidderminster defeats. We never really seemed to get any closer until last weekend where we all expected and there is still no movement and no answers to any of the questions.

LOL if you think that will happen.
My guess would be at least 2 months on the treatment table getting multiple surgeries on his elbow to get over this injury..

He's not going is he.

Imagine if next season Oxford are a Championship club and we're not . . . . .

Just out of interest will anyone be sending an email to the CEO as per the tweet from club 1871?

No. I can only imagine the amount of abusive emails he will have received thus far and probably has changed his email address by now.

I am feeling genuinely sorry for Pauno. He looked like a beaten man last night and the kindest thing the owners could do would be to sack him and end this charade. But it sounds as though they are holding him against his will - probably due to contractual issues.

And if ITK Eddie's speculation is right, the CEO is too scared to speak to the owner. What a mess. You just could not make it up. I am beginning to get genuinely concerned as to whether the owner might just end his association with the club rather than save it. Like when Wigan's owner suddenly out of the blue simply placed the club in administration without warning. It is all getting beyond odd.

Wigan and Rotherham both look nailed on for promotion and possibly Sunderland best of the rest. Could be a few tasty local derbies in league 1.

Up to 5 from 5 of whether Pauno will win another game or not. 25% of the way through the remaining games from the question.
