I can see his character and personality giving the team a much needed lift behind the scenes. It sounds as though Pauno may have been struggling to do this over the last couple of months from the mole’s comments.

I think it was just a case where the players had lost faith in Pauno, knowing that his ideas just weren't working for the team and we didn't have the belief that it was going to translate to results either and that was apparent with the fans as well. I think it was pretty much as simple as that, he's not a bad man, he's not a bad manager, he just didn't work with us eventually for whatever factors.

This is the only such occasion in a career that lasted over 70 years that "Brucey", as he was known to his friends, changed the words of his catchphrase.

That's fair enough - I just genuinely don't think he is a bad manager, he just wasn't right in our situation no more, partly down to him, partly not down to him. His record overall was decent across all fronts really, I certainly wouldn't say he is a bad manager and I'm sure his next job will be at someone with a relatively similar reputation to a club like ourselves.
