Cardiff can do themselves, and us, a massive favour by beating Derby tomorrow night.

be a very tough ask for Derby to make up 8 points, having played a game more and only 11 left to go after that

Cardiff win would be huge for us, and probably get close to confirming their own safety

It would also be ideal if Barnsley fell away over the next 2/3 games, even if it means we don't gain much/significant ground, it would be best for us if those teams gained very few points and just chalked off another couple of games.

Something to point out is that, whilst we have been gash for Months, we have never dropped into the bottom 3 (appreciate WRDCFC points deduction but even so....) which rather indicates those teams below us have been even more crap than we have been.

I pointed this out midway through our awful run. For as bad as we have been, it shows how bad the rest are (maybe Derby withstanding) that they haven't even managed to go above us in the league, even if only for 5 minutes in a game, we've never actually dropped in. Derby have less of a case than Peterborough and Barnsley, but even still they've got relatively close so you'd imagined they might have done at one stage.

A four week extension has been given to Derby County's administrators to prove they have sufficient funds to complete the season.

Isn't that on top of the original 4 week extension they got?

YorkshireRoyal99 I can see us losing our next few games, but I also don't think it's going to happen.

As some have mentioned, it's not necessarily about putting a string of 3/4 wins together (even though that would be massive), it's more of a case of we have to keep plugging away at the points. Saturday is disappointing but we most certainly won't be the only side at the bottom to lose a game like that either. If we can just pick up a win every 3 games and pick up the odd point here and there, we should do ok.

5 more wins and I'm convinced we will survive, I'd be confident and less sure with 4 wins but if we can pick up 2/3 draws as well, that would be crucial.

Yes, 5 wins would most likely keep us up but do you honestly think we will win 5?

To be honest, possibly. I don't think it's beyond our capabilities at all, but do I think we will? No. I think we will win 4 of our remaining games which wouldn't be confirmed safe, but with the odd point or two elsewhere it might be. I can't see Barnsley winning 6 games (which they would need if we win 4) and Derby and Peterborough winning 7 though either.

.
Interestingly , even without the points deduction, we would now still only be one place above the relegation spots so, taking form over the whole season it looks unlikely that we will get 5 wins from our remaining games.

Yes, I am with you in feeling (and hoping) that the others will just not win enough games themselves.

That’ll be form over a season where we’ve had the longest injury list anyone can remember
And the shittest manager, obviously

Not trying to justify anything it is just a fact that we are 4th from bottom and not very good.

Yes, absolutely - when we drew v Derby New Year we were 11 points ahead of them. So they have gained 3 points on us in 2 months during our spell of 7 defeats on the bounce.

Problem is people believe the Rooney hype the BBC and JLow continually peddle

Also puzzled, latest EFL statement says nothing about extension and was demanding urgent update.

This is wrong, as of now. The EFL have released a statement essentially saying thec4 weeks are up and we have heard nothing.

Essentially we are at 23.59 for Derby, something happens in the next few hours or they'll very likely be expelled.

I do think teams at the bottom do end up picking up in the last 10-15 games of the season though. I don't have anything to support this, but teams do genuinely begin to outperform where they are in the table, usually ending up with over 1 point per game whereas before it's usually significantly worse, that's for those who stay up anyway.
