6ft Kerplunk Yeah cos lots of his mates do. He'll also support whoever else is winning the glory hunting little dickhead. The only reason he's not been kicked out the house is they are his local team and he did start supporting them before they got good again. It's just be a shame he won't truly know how disappointed I am in him until my will is read.

I had something similar with my son who, in his teens, became a Chelsea fan.
It was a bit less of glory-hunting in that he was a great Kerry Dixon fan and even got involved in his fan club (partly because it was run by a female athlete who was a bit of a looker but I can't remember her name , possibly Kathy Taylor?).

So I don't begrudge him the Chelsea glory years as he has been a season ticket holder since the days of Chelsea playing in what is now The Championship.

The good thing is that he has kept a strong interest in Reading and still goes to some of our games, even Kidderminster away, so Kerplunk all might not be lost for you-my son had some tricky school years as a Reading fan living in the football stronghold that is Bournemouth. .

You can see why he might have been tempted.

That could have been any score once United jacked it in.

No wonder De Gea has the highest number of saves this season, they are so incredibly poor and it’s not just AWB

United are woeful. Need to ship out at least 8 players and start again this summer.

Attempting sign 8 players of the relevant standard is going to cost …… an absolute fortune

Seriously, could be half a billion to get them even close

Some of them just aren’t good enough but Rashford really looks like he wants a different job.

He obviously has other things on his mind and barely even goes through the motions of being a footballer.

For 2 years he has been stealing a living... well, a fortune.

£150k pw?

He is a disgrace.

Would probably be easier to list players to keep to be honest - I’m really struggling

Wasn’t convinced by Sancho given his performances in an England shirt but he’s improving. Elanga looks lively although we know the problem of overrating these sort of players given what’s happened to Martial and Rashford

I’ve always liked Mata but as a starting point, was there any need to renew his contract last summer? Waste of everyone’s time

It’s been more than two years to be fair

Mourinho sussed out fairly quickly that neither him or Martial are actually very good and certainly not a basis to build foundations around. Was heavily criticised at the time but it looks like he got the right end of the stick

If he has to play, would play him at LW, he really isn’t a ST or even more bizarrely a RW

Watched a few Man United games recently, how does Fernandes manage to get away with so many yellow card offences?
Don't think Maguire could have argued if he'd seen red for that late high lunge on De Bruyne, absolutely no attempt to play the ball.

I still see Rashford as a striker - and that isn't the role is plays at United. A facing the goal sort of striker like Aguero, rather than one you look to hold the ball up. When he first emerged, as a striker, his movement and ability to take a shot on the run reminded me of Michael Owen. For me, and I know this isn't a view widely shared, he has become a player stuck at the wrong club and/or playing the wrong style of football. It's no coincidence that he is often more effective for England than for United.

His contract expires next summer, I don't think a move would be bad for him.

What about when taking penalties?

To the third tier of Greek football, perhaps?

Just don’t think he has the intelligence to lead the line though. Aguero’s movement was absolute top notch, Rashford’s isn’t, like when to stick, when to run etc, he’s caught offside more than he should be and I don’t think he has any composure in front of goal. Think he’s one of those players who’s better with less time to think

Could see him going abroad which I think would be a good step to re ignite his career which has gone stale for too long

Man Utd are now officially the modern day Liverpool of the 90's. They will win the odd cup here and there but as for league, will be a barren spell for a number of years. They will literally have to spend in excess of half a billion pounds to be close to competitive and sustain that, and that just wont happen. They have fallen so far behind its scary.

Chelsea and City have shown that you can buy success but Man Utd's approach is always so scatter gun they won't succeed until they actually plan a little.

The Glazers approach is difficult to understand...

It only makes sense as a business rather than a football club i.e. the primary role of the FC is as a marketing vehicle. United outperform everyone in that respect (  ). For example, a recent post of a training game result outperformed several clubs' social media for actual league games that same week. It's like they don't mind being shit as long as they can get your brand in front of millions

I assume they attract players who want to build their own brand rather than win things.

I also assume that the reason they keep shit players is that on the balance sheet they have them marked down as valued at £80M.

They let Herrera walk out of the door for free (valued at £25M). Pogba (£50M), Lingard(£15M) are going to walk out the door. This has nothing to do with the quality of the player but what kind of business just says "£90M, nah fcuk it!"

They then offer contracts to old shit players that they then can't shift...lovingly known as 'Deadwood FC'

The same clowns have been in charge since Fergie left but just try and shift the blame to the manager. They have spent a billion and what do they have to show for it...scattergun indeed! They only spend when we are not in the CL btw!

etc etc

Just based on the fact that Utd are a Billion dollar business and you can't rid of everyone and play the youth.

There are a few players who might make the bench as squad players but they aren't good enough to be starting (e.g. McTominay)

Go through the prem league until you get to a team where McFred are a better option than that team's midfield...absolute dogshit

Keep
de Gea
Varane
Lindelof
Pogba (maybe)
Bruno
Sancho
Ronaldo

Get Rid
McFred
AWB
Shaw (v good 6 months the rest has been shite)
Maguire
Bailey
Lingard
Cavani
Matic
Mata
Jones

You’d keep Ronaldo? Bit surprised tbh.

He is not suited the current PL imo, and he is too old to adapt to its requirements.

If he wants to continue playing he needs to go to a league that is slower paced and lower intensity. You have to press in the PL and he doesn’t do that - which either rubs off on those who look up to him or frustrates the hell out of those who will run and press.

Not saying he’s a bad influence, his professionalism has always been off the scale, but he is bad for the team and wrong for what they need to do to compete with those above.

Kind of agree. He was at the end of the list for a reason. Mainly who the fcuk else is available as a striker

United don't press, they get a few headless chickens that chase but nothing consistent. I've seen Ronaldo drop deep countless times to mop up McFred's inability to track

I'm glad Ronaldo was injured yesterday as we can put the horseshit about "him being the reason United are shit" to bed

How the fcuk is Maguire going to be able to tell Ronaldo that what he does is wrong (i.e. diet, training, playing, mentality, anything).

If there are cliques, then i fcuking suggest they join Ronaldo's mob
