Next up for the Royals is a live on SKY fixture next Sunday April 3rd away at Chelsea KO 6.45pm. The match is being played at Kings meadow Kingston- on - Thames. Hopefully Reading can do better against Chelsea than Leicester did yesterday- losing 9-0 at home to them !!!!

On a completely separate note, does anyone know what sort of revenue the women's game brings to the club?

I heard off someone that apparently it's meant to be a good source of revenue for the clubs, but I've never worked out where from considering crowds and gameday revenue is significantly less than the men's game?

Can’t see anything other than a loss i would think- however 2021/22 season is the first year of a paid TV contract(SKY and BBC) which i’m sure has brought in much needed revenue.

Think they have lost over £1m a year for last three years and are £4m in debt to the owner. 30+ full time employees. Turnover is less than half a million a year. All this from accounts IIRC. Probably majority of revenue is from commercial and broadcast. Not much from gate receipts. Attendance of 400 (?) only for cup game v WHU.

Fortunately doesn’t count in FFP etc. But not a big deal in the scheme of things.

Tickets went on sale by Chelsea this morning - only standing tickets left now. Didn't realise until this week that Reading don't sell the away tickets.

Emma Harries apparently carried off on a stretcher playing for England U23’s today.

Harries took part in the Lionesses’ U23s camp, and started their most recent fixture against the Netherlands last Tuesday, but had to be withdrawn 28' minutes in.

Following scans back at the club, it has been confirmed that the forward is set for a spell on the sidelines having ruptured her posterior cruciate ligament and will be out for an extended period of time.

This season, the young academy graduate has proved to be a pivotal part of Kelly Chambers' side, recording her highest amount of games played (19), starts (14) and goal involvements (6 - exc penalties won).

On the injury, Harries said, "I am absolutely gutted to have gotten this injury at this point of the season, but I'll make sure that I am better than ever when I can finally return. I want to thank my family, parter, players and staff for their ongoing support and care."

As Emma now begins her recovery process, the club would like to wish her the speediest of recoveries and we'll be supporting her every step of the way.

Another poor performance you have to start wondering what is the point? They are at best average they will never win anything lose to mid table opponents. And get thrashed by the top teams.

Next season promises top be a diff ball game with Liverpool coming up and Brum down leaving us the only non premier league side left in WSL*.

Its gradually getting harder and harder with all the big 6 and the likes of West Ham & Villa all with big budgets I expect.

Back to the bad old days of earlier in the season.

West Ham would have won by a considerably larger margin but for another excellent performance by Grace Maloney in goal. It would hardly be an exaggeration to say that the first half ended Maloney 0 West Ham United 0!

IMO some bizarre selections, formation and tactics from Chambers and Cousins. Dowie left on the bench for most of the game, Rowe virtually made a striker. By far our best player and the one most likely to score i.e. Deanne Rose played up front on her own but clearly told to stay out wide on the left! When they did occasionally get the ball to her and she worked some magic down the wing, she was let down by an absence of any real attacking capability in the centre.

Sadly, based on her very poor performance today, it looks like we signed Sanne Troelsgaard when she was well past her 'best before' date. No surprise at all when she was finally replaced by Dowie.
