Well I wouldn't play them in the same roles because that's not Drinkwater's strength, but in terms of reliability in tackling, Drinkwater's numbers were as good as you'd see for most holding midfielders in this league on Saturday. Of course it's just one game and consistency is key, but yes, the overall opinion is that Drinkwater is a better player than Tetek. It's hard to argue against it tbh.

It is not about who is better, it is about who is here next season and needs the experience. Danny Drinkwater will go to another club stupid enough to pay him whilst we will rely on our youth players to carry us forward. We need to get them in as soon as possible.

We worry about that if we survive, for now, we need to consistently get our best players on the pitch, for which he is one of them in midfield.

Nobody is catching us now. Having a young player in for Drinkwater makes absolutely no difference whatsoever anyway, he has been incredibly poor. Very little chance Tetek will offer less than him.

Norfolk Royal Is this game available to watch on Royals TV or just audio? Can't work it out from the website. They really ought to sort that out.

As a rule just audio without a vpn, but there is sometimes a deal for video, but usually publicised as such.

Don't think it will be available in the UK as it is a rearranged Saturday game, so wouldn't form part of any midweek broadcast deal.

Balls -when did that change? I was relying on paying a tenner to watch this on Royals TV (in addition to my ST which I can;t use tonight). Do I have to become a Stoke fan for the night to watch this?

Don't think that will work if in the UK. This is a rearranged game, so are not usually available for video unless ouside UK/Ireland.

We are only within a couple of wins of being caught. As much as it would take a terrible run of form for us to go down, that's not exactly unlikely really is it given the season we've had.

But I don't know how you can say with 7 games to go that putting worse players on the pitch will not make the difference because "nobody is catching us". Not suggesting that someone will, as I don't think they will, but you're making it out as if we are 6 points clear with 2 games left with a 10 better goal difference than anyone below us.

For next season I would like to see us with an all-action midfielder like a Barry Bannan,Honeyman, Jack Colback type.
We have become a bit stuck in the 2 defensive midfielders plus another 2 or 3 whereas I would just prefer it if Rhino and/or Laurent actually did more as they have not done enough for whatever reasons and have generally too often treated games as a stroll.

Connor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kante etc. do the lot in that they defend, break and assist as well as scoring the occasional goal and although at a different level I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to find another Sidwell-we tried with Stephen Quinn but he was injured too often however I am sure there are others out there.

As for Tetek, Camara and co. let's hope they develop but so far I haven't seen enough to be convinced that they will make it however both are still very young and next season could be the making of them especially with Swift, Halilovic, TDB, Hoilett and possibly Laurent and DD no longer around.

Ah, the rearranged loophole. Sky red button not accessible via ipad, as I recall. Stuffed, despite hideous expenditure. Not paying on top of BBC licence fee to listen to Tim Dellor and Unfortunately Gooding.

Not done it for a while, but I am pretty sure you can watch red button games in iPad, but not when they've been rearranged.

The question was whether we should re-sign him on circa 10k next season.

Even I wouldn't drop him for Stoke after his best game

I responded to what was said re getting our youngsters on the pitch as soon as possible, hence why I said we keep our best players on the pitch until we survive, regardless of whether they are here next season or not.

As far as I'm concerned, I think it's a sensible signing to get Danny Drinkwater on £10k a week, I also think it's unlikely and he will probably move abroad for better money.

Only if he can get a move to the US or Australia I would guess - he tried Europe (well Turkey) already and it didn't go well.

Championship is the most likely destination for him next year but given the relationship he has with some of our fans, it won't be with us.

Can definitely see someone like WBA coming in for him. He won't be short of offers.

He will definitely get offers from the Championship, but I could see him getting better offers from abroad but we'd have to wait and see really.

I always rated Danny Williams and what he added to the team. It was difficult to fit a formation around him that worked at the time, but I reckon he could have been a key player if they'd got him to work.

Just for the record Danny is now 33 and has been without a club since leaving Pafos at the end of May 2020.

TBF DD has offered considerably more than Tetek this season on the basis that he's been fit for most of the season and Tetek has been injured

He'd do better in a better team than us, that has better movement and better players to cover his weaknesses. But then, I think better teams than us can do better than him.
