Player of the Season 2021/22

I have voted for Yids. He has shown so much fight, determination and passion and even started crossing well in recent games. He just shades Swift who hasn’t quite been at the levels in 2022 that he reached earlier in the season. Joao in third place. He has been hugely important in our fight to stay up.

My top three starting with my player of the season is....

Yiadom since Ince took over. But Swift is player of the season by a mile. Yiadom will get it because our fans only remember the last few games of the season and always favour "passion" over talent and results.

Have to agree with SCIAG at worst Swift has been decent. At best he's been utterly outstanding. His record speaks for itself, and it's a really nice goodbye to award him PotS.

Trying to think of someone different to bring in, but most players have been dreadful at times and few have played enough games. Joao hasn't really, but his scoring record is so outstanding and his involvement so crucial, he deserves a nod.

YPotS for me Camara, looks really exciting and underused imo.

2nd probably Tetek, not been involved a lot, but acquitted himself well even out of position.

3rd much maligned Southwood. Some really great performances and only real contender in number of appearances, but a few too many errors to get the top spot.

So many injuries and so very few completing a seasons games.
Pass the blame for this season as much as you like, but all players have had abject games at some stage.

Agree with OMA…just give it a pass.

YPOTS mention to Clarke? two goals to win us a game once…took some bad advice and was dropped.

Don’t really care. Laurent and Yiadom are the only two who have made 30 league starts. Yids has been good but not exceptional. Joao and McIntyre have probably been the best when they’ve been on the pitch, but McIntyre in particular hasn’t played enough. Maybe Drinkwater.

U18 player of the year will probably be Clarke, but I’d go for Abrefa.

Holmes has spent the season being described as at fault for virtually every goal and a L2 player by half of HNA.

I can’t think of anyone who said he was a L2 player let alone half of the board. He had some shockers in the early part of this year but as with a good numbers of players has improved under Ince.

A lot of our squad have missed large parts of the season, so it's difficult really to think of the 3rd player. I was tempted to go Baba Rahman as he hasn't been that bad over the course of the season, but of course he's been part of a catastrophic defence throughout a lot of the season, but individually he hasn't been our worst performer.

I think the 3rd player is definitely more "who has been the not worst performer of the season" or "who has been best in their limited availability".
