For the neutral fan this is arguably as good as it gets, right? Notwithstanding that Liverpool need a midweek win at Southampton, we might/should be go into the final day with the title undecided, between probably the two Premier League (maybe even top flight) teams of all time. What price an early Liverpool goal as a Steven Gerrard-led Villa defend efficiently and stoically at the Etihad?

Still think City will get there, but would be interesting to see how Pep's side copes if they were suddenly second in the 'live table'.

URZZZZ real missed opportunity for Liverpool not beating Spurs last weekend

Doesn't in retrospect make much difference given City's ten goals against Wolves and Newcastle. Liverpool would have needed a similar 4 or 5 goal win at Southampton just to bring GD back into it.

Unless I’m doing something wrong, a Liverpool win against Spurs (and Southampton midweek) would have taken them on 91 points, rather than City’s 90 so goal difference wouldn’t matter

It is, of course, a simple game though because over the course of the season, both teams can point to occasions where they shouldn’t have dropped points

As a neutral I'm all for it going down to the last few seconds and someone from either side doing an Aguerro. Given he's not exactly set the Etihad on fire this season I reckon Grealish will pop up with the late winner. Or maybe Milner signing off with it.

Ah, yeah, had the 1 point back to front. Has been one hell of a run-in. Liverpool have won 14 of 16. Since their defeat to Palace, City have won 22 out of 27.

I think the neutral is most interested in the battle of Europa v Conference betwixt Man Utd and West Ham

URZZZZ Side note, but mentioned before managers’ strange obsessions with shoehorning players in certain positions with a ready made replacement on the bench.

Tuchel had a go at this today. Brought on Ruben Loftus-Cheek to play up front for 15 minutes, then subbed him off near the end so that Ross Barkley could take a penalty. All while Timo Werner, a forward (who fwiw has scored 16 out of 20 penalties in his career), sat on the bench.

My son, who was at the game, reckons that Werner had an injury in the warm-up which might explain why he didn't come on.

Even though it will go to the last day, tonight is the Top 4 decider, I feel.

Win, and Arsenal will have it secured
Draw or lose, and it's Tottenham's.

Given City’s form from the spot, it’s entirely possible that Liverpool win all four for the quadruple on penalties

Jeez Arsenal all over the place. What the hell is wrong with Ramsdale. Looks so dodgy. Thought he might be on the plane to the WC.....but not in this form.

That's impossible. You can't win a game in the Premier league on penalises

I thought the performance at Tottenham was bad, but this is worse
At least they had the red card ‘excuse’ last week

If Arsenal think this lot are good enough for top 4 they are deluded. Appalling performance, no leadership at all. They look utterly lost.

The amount of times a pass is behind the player is just ridiculous

Just had a corner. Pissed about with a short one. Managed to win a throw in.

Shambles from Arsenal. 4th place has been well within their control at a couple of points this season too.
