Doesn't in retrospect make much difference given City's ten goals against Wolves and Newcastle. Liverpool would have needed a similar 4 or 5 goal win at Southampton just to bring GD back into it.

Sanguine For the neutral fan this is arguably as good as it gets, right? Notwithstanding that Liverpool need a midweek win at Southampton, we might/should be go into the final day with the title undecided, between probably the two Premier League (maybe even top flight) teams of all time. What price an early Liverpool goal as a Steven Gerrard-led Villa defend efficiently and stoically at the Etihad?
Still think City will get there, but would be interesting to see how Pep's side copes if they were suddenly second in the 'live table'.

Unless I’m doing something wrong, a Liverpool win against Spurs (and Southampton midweek) would have taken them on 91 points, rather than City’s 90 so goal difference wouldn’t matter
It is, of course, a simple game though because over the course of the season, both teams can point to occasions where they shouldn’t have dropped points

SanguineURZZZZ Side note, but mentioned before managers’ strange obsessions with shoehorning players in certain positions with a ready made replacement on the bench.
Tuchel had a go at this today. Brought on Ruben Loftus-Cheek to play up front for 15 minutes, then subbed him off near the end so that Ross Barkley could take a penalty. All while Timo Werner, a forward (who fwiw has scored 16 out of 20 penalties in his career), sat on the bench.

Franchise FC Given City’s form from the spot, it’s entirely possible that Liverpool win all four for the quadruple on penalties

I thought the performance at Tottenham was bad, but this is worse
At least they had the red card ‘excuse’ last week
