South Coast Royal
NathStPaul But nobody cares about old football.

Don't they?
Surely when it comes to records it matters otherwise records are pointless.

I was pulling your leg. My only issue with old football is teams like Derby and Forest claiming to be big clubs because they won something 40 years ago. At least Liverpool have a track record of consistent success.

BROB0T Still just the one premier league title in 30 years for the best team in the world ever!

They'll make up for it by winning the CL next week.

Let's hope not.
I just wonder, if they lose the CL final if they will see this season as a success, especially as they won 2 cups without scoring a goal....hardly domination.
They really missed a chance with the league this season and with Haarland joining City next season I think City will have a massive grip on the title.

Wonder if there’s any regret on the part of Klopp for not going for it a little bit more against City/Spurs a few weeks back? In both cases, a defeat would likely have killed the entire race but City drop so few points, you have to take all the opportunities you can

Still, if they manage to win next week, 3 trophies makes for a very good season. Squad is only getting older as mentioned elsewhere but Konate and Diaz are both young with a successful first season, with the likes of Elliott, Jones and Carvalho around too

You've said this a few times now. Did you watch those games? Struggling to see how Liverpool could have done much more against the champions and a very-good-against-the-top-teams CL qualifying Spurs. They came from behind 3 times across those 2 games, both were absolutely fair results. Those were the only points they dropped in the league since their draw away to Chelsea at the turn of the year. If you're going to try and pick out one match, then chucking away 2 points against Brighton when 2-0 up at home, is a better bet.

I actually meant decade as in the last 10 years but can see how it's open to interpretation

Well yeah, it’s easier said than done of course against two top sides and in isolation, respectable points (more than respectable against City) but from past experience, City just never seem to drop points when it comes to the crunch (I.e risk of dropping their place)

Not throwing on Origi when the game plan against Spurs involved cross after cross for example was odd given how he’d changed the game in the previous home game but instead bringing on a CM and a LB for example

Sure Klopp knows a little bit more than myself  but even the best are always thinking of ways to improve. Or maybe I’m just bitter because I really don’t like City!

Was something inevitable about City's comeback when their first went in, but wasn't expecting anything like that, obviously.

Hopefully Liverpool can win the CL this weekend. Neither of the two biggest prizes after a season like this would be a little silly. In any 'normal' era they'd be celebrating a third title in four seasons. City are relentless. 92 points, second again for Liverpool. Madness. Fergie's United never got more than 91.

Not sure how ominous Mane's comments are. He says that he'll announce a decision on his future after the CL final.

I think it is probably the right time for one of Salah or Mane to go. Diaz has the potential to be as good as Mane in time and any funds from the Mane sale can go towards an out and out striker, think they need a fox in the box style striker in the squad so that they can go to a plan B when necessary.

I think Jota is plenty good enough too, and is maybe that box striker they need. I think there is a real risk though that Liverpool lose both Mane and Salah in the next 12 months.

Appears that Monaco's Tchouameni, who Liverpool were front-runners for, is the next player to find himself on the road to Real Madrid.

Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga isn't a bad back-up to/replacement for Modric, Kroos and Casemiro.

I've thought for a while that of someone has to leave it should be Mane, although nowadays Bobby wouldn't be missed quite as much as in the past. They should build multiple statues for Mo and try to get him to stay for the rest of his career. If Mane does leave Jota and Diaz are already proving suitable replacements and Klopp will probably be able to buy someone from nowhere to do a great job anyway
