tidus_mi2 Oh definitely worse, I don't think Bolton were at risk of liquidation.

Could be wrong, but was it not a race against time for both Bolton and Bury? Bolton managed to get their deal over the line before a deadline whereas Bury didn't? It may have been media blow up, but I'm sure the BBC did something similar to a deadline day piece on both of them before the season started 2/3 years ago now.

I thought Bolton had a reprieve last minute too, didn't they manage to sell their stadium very late on in the procedings that saved their bacon?

You're probably right, I do remember that tasteless countdown Sky did.

paultheroyal All sorts of ramifications are going on with Derby.

Alternative fixture lists are being proposed which involves promotion an additional team from League 2, keeping Gillingham in League 1 and promoting Solihull Moors from the National League.

Derby County = utter mess.

Feel for their fans, but the club deserves everything coming to them!

Nah fuck 'em. They wouldn't feel one iota of sympathy if the shoe was on the other foot.

Other clubs would probably make some comment like "Well Reading have no history, are massively tin pot, no one would miss them".

I would feel sympathy for supporters of any club if they went out of business as it wouldn't be their fault and it could easily be us one day. For some people football is all they have and it could really affect their lives.

On the other hand the club have broken the rules and cheated.

There's no reason this couldn't happen to Reading.

Yep, and everyone would laugh at us. So who gives a **** about Derby!

Feel for their fans, it's not their fault, but the club cheated and to the extreme, and a precedent needs to be set. Rotting in League 2 for a few years would suffice.

I agree, to lose your club must be devastating for the fans , but for Derby county football club i have zero sympathy, the way they treated us with total distain in the match programme back in 2003 (?) was unforgivable.
A leopard doesn`t change it`s spots, they got caught cheating and must deal with the consequences,

Don't agree with the "everyone will be laughing" line. I think they'll of course be the typical Twitter morons laughing at the misfortune of others but sensible football supporters wouldn't find it funny. Football Twitter doesn't mean everyone.

Their fans were quite happy with the situation when they were posting this meme all over twitter, lording it over other clubs.

I feel for those supporters where they respect their own club and other clubs as well. I don't feel for the club themselves for irresponsibly putting themselves in that situation or the fans (that every club has) that are idiots and would lap this up if it was anyone else.

I'd never want any football club to go bust though.

Only a handful of online idiots. I'm thinking about the old boys who have been going to see their boyhood club since they were little.

Gutted for the fans, any real football fan would be a bit respectful for any club going under regardless on how it come about
Twitter fans will have a meltdown.

Really EFL should have seen this coming a while ago...however Derby hierarchy done the dirty and used every trick in the accounts cook book and dragged this out for far too long.

Yeah that's it really, the people that matter have put the club in the situation they have now and bailed when they weren't interested in funding it anymore. It shows just how easily things can go wrong, it's looking difficult for them now.

The oxf*rd kept pretending Fulham had scored to send us down at their place, cheered when it actually happened and then tried to give out to us as we clapped our players.

I don’t like them, didn’t like Mel (esp the crooked 80m stadium deal), don’t like their fans and they deserve to be severely punished but to get this far is a shame
