Franchise FC
Winston Biscuit Djed Spence reportedly on his way to Spurs for £20M

That’s not at all good for Forest

Forest had him on loan so not sure if him staying with them was ever an option anyway

They were clearly very keen and he was integral, if not essential to their style

Spence was on loan from Middlesbrough. Would suggest though that Spurs should be looking to buy the ‘boro player that kept Spence so sidelined he had to go out on loan.

Pepe the Horseman
Winston Biscuit Sounds like Tchouaméni has just about finalised his move to Real Madrid for €100M

At least it didn't drag on all summer and get tedious like they seem to do sometimes

I've literally never heard of this guy

France number 8.

His range of passing is quite something...

Stunning  reading have a heap of midfielders that can do that and for a fraction of 100m Euros.

If he hits the ground running then you can't see anyone stopping City domestically. Nothing in his stats at club and international level suggest he will fail to deliver.

He’s had a few injury niggles, but his scoring record despite a few playing gaps remains exceptional
Be interesting to see how he fits into the style

sensational player. Will be interesting to see how he fits into the City style because I am not sure he does as it stands. They will surely have to adapt to get the best from him.

I think he just fits the missing piece in the team. There will no doubt be some adaptations by both club and player to accommodate him in, but overall I think he's just the CF that they are looking for, someone who will poach goals and cause havoc in behind the defences of teams or just in the box.

The only reservations I have about Haaland is he is coming from a league where players don't tend to do as well as expected and it can take some time to adapt to the speed and physicality of the Premier League.

Haaland is obviously way better than the last missing piece of the jigsaw signing by Chelsea last year, but it's going to be properly interesting to see how he does in first season. Very few players seem to adapt to Pep's demands early on, and there's going to have to be considerable adjustment in their shape to accommodate an out-and-out striker. Presumably they're waiting for Jesus to depart before giving him the #9 shirt.

Núñez to Liverpool is intriguing. Initial fee of £65m, only really had one prolific season at Benfica, and not scored loads for Uruguay. Looks like he's going to play through the middle too. Year older than Haaland, wouldn't be surprised if neither get the Golden Boot in their first year.

It's a cliche, but Liverpool's next best signing now would be a new deal for Salah. A front five of Diaz, Nunez, Salah, Jota and Firmino for the next 2/3 years would be a bit silly really, and at least give them a chance of keeping up with City.

the add-ons will be easily met over the two years...play 5 games etc

it's a way of downplaying how much they have paid for him

Would love to have a nose through a contract one day. We have seen leaked bits before but I reckon there may be surprising stuff in there

Never seen a contract but once saw the business plan for Real to buy David Beckham.
Didn’t require him to play a single game to get their money back

Excellent transfer, just what they need. Hopefully they can get a few more through the door and push on next season. They won't get close to Liverpool or City just yet but can certainly see them being the best of the rest.
