Simon's Church Maybe. Good to know that any of the staff, not just the manager, can ask for their son and son's best friend to be given 3 year deals then.

Anyway, Jake Cooper's nephew seems to be at the front of the young CB queue now, travelled with the first team ahead of Stickland, Dorsett and Abbey.

Wonder where that one got recommended in from

According to jnr we couldn't offer Cadden the same wages as Barnsley

We aren't realistically going to offer a League 2 player more than a few grand a week in our current situation. We likely could have offered more than Barnsley are paying him but it may have meant putting all our eggs in one basket.

Bang goes our LB signing early this week, unless it’s Brandon O-O.

Not sure Cadden was ever on the radar but we know BOO played so unless he is shit or suddenly gets a better offer, expect he'll sign.

Would also say that this is the most likely scenario.

Thinking about it, am I that bothered that we've lost out on a player who has gone to a club that were worse than a team with a 21 point deduction last season and were absolutely nowhere near good enough at this level? Not really.

Surely its more worrying we can't compete with a recently relegated L1 side.

It's not like he’d be choosing them for more guaranteed game time.

Just think, if we hadn't signed a 4th goalie we don't need we could have matched Barnsley's offer. Southwood and Andresson still at the club and involved with first team.

It depends on what we offered and what they offered.

He may have chosen them for more guaranteed game time, just because we don't currently have a LB, that doesn't mean that the first one we sign is guaranteed game time.

Is there actually any evidence we were even in for him? As far as I can tell it was just speculation from someone on Twitter.

Someone mentioned on the preseason thread that he played for us against Colchester but not sure if that was just a wind up. I have heard we’re signing BOO.

My good friend who works in our Chesterfield office is a Barnsley STH and helps run their supporters club. He reckons Barnsley have a pretty strict salary cap and most players would be on no more than 5k to 7k per week.

It could be we are actually finally being sensible and put a max price on his worth and stuck to it.
Can imagine in the past players agents knew if they asked for more and they'll give it.
