Just mention it here too, mentioned on UR&G but looks like Danny Drinkwater is with the squad at the moment. May just be training with us but could be that he may return.

Elm Park Kid It occurs to me that the youth players that we have given a proper chance in the first team over the years have a much higher success rate than the ageing 'superstars' we've brought in.

We've never been great with so called "superstars" or high profile players in general really.

Yes. It's almost like we should trust them more, and show greater patience.

23 days left to sign at minimum 2 CMs and a LB to avoid starting the season with a hole in our first XI.

Just over three weeks to kick off. Better hope some of the trialists sign and fill those positions...

4 CMs, 3LBs out... 0 in.

No movement on either of the big priorities to shift out either.

Fornah should be on board tomorrow. So that’s one midfielder in. Would like at least one more midfielder and a left back in over the next three weeks,

Positive twist on Long rumours. Will know more early next week. But conversations are taking place. I know this contradicts what I earlier said, but there have been developments.

Don't doubt you Paul but I hope we don't end up paying too much or offering a three year contract to compensate for any wages shortfall

Happy with Yiadom as captain, seemed like the obvious choice as it was never going to be Moore and every other candidate has essentially left the club now as well.

Interesting interview with Drinkwater - admits that he wasn't benefiting the team much in the first few months and was really struggling, thought he couldn't hack it. Ince coming in gave him a bit of a spark and he enjoyed his football for the first time in years. Says he has a few offers out there, so could be we are an option - though in no way expect to see him back but if he is starting to enjoy his football again then he will be an asset for someone.

It was good to know he was enjoying his football again towards the back end of the season. I believe he said in his first interview that he just wanted to start enjoying his football again so I'm glad he eventually managed to get on the straight and narrow and do that whilst being quite an important player throughout most of our season as well.

If he comes back, good, if not then I hope he does well wherever he ends up.

Interesting interview that

Can see that through his time with us. Interesting also that Ince is getting a fair few mentions by the players. Think it was a right mess under Pauno

Ince was the manager to get him enjoying football again after so many 'top' managers failed to do so, then surely that gives us an edge over the competition. The latter half of the season, he was one of the better performers in the team, but that was not a high bar to reach.
Sounded like he had is big money contract and now just wants to play.
