Happy enough with Jeff Hendrick. Lets just hope he's not another David Meyler.

Very happy with Hendrick. Class above a lot of the trialists.

The man is called Jeff. We need some more names like that please. Lets go for a Lance, a Julian or a Brian.

So with Jeff H and Long joining today, don’t think we are far off

Get Hutchinson and Jeanvier in if they’re cheap, find a LB, and we look ok

No doubts add a bit of extra depth where we can on top but feeling reasonably optimistic

I don't mean to get too excited but we're winning the Champions League next season

Agree there, we can then supplement with whatever else we need to help fill the squad out.

P.Ince was pretty straight in his interview over the weekend, the first team looked sharp and competitive against Benfica on Saturday, it was the depth we lacked really.

Reckon we'll end up "making do" at LB until ya man has recovered from his injury.

McIntyre-ing do

He’s ok there. Not long term but can do a job.

With Dann injured can Tom Mc cover both left sided defensive roles for a few weeks ?

So - first XI starting to look decent.

Could argue that Hendrik and Fornah allow us to go 4-4-2 as well.

But assuming 4-2-3-1 and all fit - then side for Blackpool looks like:

Lumley

Yiadom
Dann
Holmes
McIntyre

Hendrick
Fornah

Ince
Ejaria
Meite

Joao

That's starting to look like a side that shouldn't go down.

If Dann is out the McIntyre goes in the middle and we figure out the full backs from there.

If we can sign Fulton from Swansea, be it a free or a loan, that would leave our midfield as Fornah, Hendrick, Fulton, definitely capable at this level. Tetek and McIntyre can fill those squad areas, but we could probably use some creativity in that area.

It does seem increasingly likely that our shape will be a 4-3-3 for the season though, based on signings and rumours.

Yeh, that's what I'm thinking. Hopefully O-O will only miss a couple of games.

Already that’s Tom Mc pencilled in for THREE jobs ! Given he should be a starting centre back I’m not sure counting on him to cover left back and midfield makes much sense....

Whether he should and whether he will is up for debate, but it was showing his versatility. I personally think he should be starting as well, but it's not a given unless we don't bring another defender in, which I find unlikely.

If it is like last season's side, I would bite your hand off for that right now.

Well last years side were relegated if you took on the pitch performance but I get your point.

Priorities are one more CB, a left back and another CM option. Ideally ship out Puscas and bring in another striker, but the squad is taking shape.

Good to be well advanced with business a couple of weeks before the season starts too; I feared a terrible start and a rush on 31 August.
