Scutterbucketz Last week I saw a picture of a Reading shirt on Twitter that was just those climate change stripes top to bottom. I thought it was a joke at the time but now it seems not. That it looked a strange mix of light blue and pinkish reds, rather than a defined colour would make a third kit seem necessary.

No, horizontal. Like mini hoops.

I could get on board with that.

Kudos to the club for partnering with the university to incorporate the climate stripes in the kit.

Don't care if its a bit ugly. I'm behind that all the way.

Yeah, good message and it's nice the club are making a point to try and become more sustainable.

I actually like the shirt, although the sleeves would probably work better on a shirt with a block colour and not the hoops. I'm interested to see how/if they will incorporate it into the away (and possibly third) kit.

Could have been worse, could have gone for a swastika design:

I mean, without anyone saying it, I wouldn't have seen it myself.

But now you have said it, I can see where they are coming from.

That’s definitely a swastika

Our new keeper kit out and disappointingly bland

Sentiments and ‘statements’ aside

The new kit looks like a a Reading shirt with my nans (god rest her soul) knitting stitched on.

Not that I would be ever be buying, but I hated my nans knitting

And ultimately, combined, it looks even shitter.

It's grown on me very quickly. I like the message. I like that you can see the same stripes around Reading, including on buses. It's a shame we're sponsored by a car leasing company, in retrospect, but there we go.

Looking forward to seeing the away kit, if indeed it is as 'controversial'. When is it due? Have we ever started a season waiting for a kit launch?

…..and much better looking than what we have been left with.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess

Not usually one to really care about this but it's the day before the first away game and they haven't announced the kit, that must be a record?

I'd be fine if they kept last seasons away kit for the rest of time.

Someone posted a The Athletic article a few pages ago, really did seem like a lot of clubs haven't confirmed/released their kits yet.

Hi guys, Blackburn fan here and football kit collector.
Hope no one minds me posting here. I’d just like to stay I was very impressed with the Reading kit for last season. Even more so when I came to the SCL stadium and saw the players in it. Was hoping for something similar again this year as I missed out in being able to buy one but I don’t think I will get this new one. It feels like a miss-match with those sleeves unfortunately.
