Started 15 or more championship games twice in his career, finished 20th and 22nd in those seasons. Hopefully we have an option to extend his 4(!?) year deal.

You seem to be excluding last season when he started more than 15 and was on the losing side in the playoff final !

He has also started more than 15 games in a season in other Leagues

And has played 15 or more games every season since 2015-16 when he first arrived in the UK aged 22 (if you take into account all competitions rather than selecting a sub set)

Yeah in league 1 and Ligue 2 (another season where his team got relegated), I was just surprised so many people seem to think he's gonna be a big upgrade defensively based on his record

He's big and aggressive which is certainly an upgrade on the soft as shite we've been accustomed to over the past 5 years.

Wouldn’t describe either of McIntyre or Morrison as soft as shite. Nor Holmes, though less so.

Our whole team has been soft as shite and easily bullied for years.

Are the EFL taking ages on purpose? An unofficial way of adding to our punishment?

Or worded another way, we got ourselves into this mess where they need to approve everything, so it's not their problem if they don't have time to get around to helping us out.

Perhaps it’s to do with it being a 4 year deal with the wages structured to be much higher after year one.

Maybe literally none of us know.

Until it is either announced or the EFL states they won't register him because of X then I'm fairly relaxed about it.

If we have tried to backfill wages from next summer, that would seem like a silly move for this one deal. Unless we have done it on other deals too and the EFL are now raising concerns.

Edging closer and excellent news. A powerhouse needed in that defence of ours. Dont think he will start but waiting in the wings to take his opportunity and strengthen that bench which is great. With him waiting Holmes and Mcintyre will need to up their game further.

Get this deal done today.

Why is everyone losing their collective sh*t about this guy?

Is he the new messiah?

No but he does bring a physical presence and some decent aerial threat at 6’6”. He has signed for Reading already so bow at last it is just down to the FL to clear the deal. Doubt he has much in the way of pace though.

Well played media team. They've had enough time to workshop it intensively though.
