Hound Sure it will be best for Tetek just with our very stretched squad, a relatively experienced u23 could be useful

Even if he isn’t what we need long term would think we’d keep him on for the year as cover. But thought same with Dorsett. Keep him around for the year for cover and go from there but obvs ince and co see it differently

Absolutely, but I think (rightly or wrongly) Ince sees more benefit this season in having a bit more experience around, which given the restrictions we are under I have some sympathy with.

Tetek out on loan with Luongo coming in would make sense and if it allows us to bring Mbengue into too - the latter being around the same age but with Ligue Un experience - it's potentially a decent piece of squad development work.

Ordinarily a loan for Tetek would make sense but our squad is so thin we need him around

Slightly surprised but opens the door for Luongo

A L1 or L2 loan, playing regular may do him the world of good.

It is exactly the sort of deal he needs now - he's still only 19 isn't he? Would be much more beneficial for him to play 20 or 30 games at a lower level at this point of his career rather than getting 5 or 10 mins here or filling at RB in an injury crisis.

Only concern is that as with Dorsett, he is out of contract next summer, so could well be the last we see of him unless the club have an option. Could be that they have decided he isn't quite what we need though and just looking to help him move on in his career.

I guess though as he's 19, he doesn't take up a squad place, so only really frees up the wage not a slot.

Agree here. The big thing with the contract situation with both is that they are both looking to earn new deals for next season and beyond, so it's a good motivation factor to go out on loan, perform well and impress and then earn a new deal and be more involved next season.

Hopefully it will be a good move for him to build up some experience and hopefully we can look to bring in another midfielder, or two, in order to make sure we aren't too light in the midfield area.

Not if we get 2 more in we won't. I think he'll only go if we can get Luongo in and maybe one other.

This. As suggested above, I think a move out for Tetek means we will bring in both Luongo and Mbengue (or a random deal from left field that we don't know about) - as I'm not sure the latter would count as a permitted player due to being under 21.

You look at him and look at our current midfield, and he doesn't really fit the same mould as any of them.

Hopefully he'll go to L1, do well and sign a new contract.

It leaves us pretty short in midfield though. Ejaria isn't a dedicated midfielder for us, and beyond him, until Loungo signs, it's literally the three in our first team or someone less experienced even than Tetek.

Lol. Would imagine it was because their contracts came to an end and Sky haven't bothered updating the list.

There are actually quite a few who have released next to their name that are still at the club.

Yes, you’ve missed the fact that half of those described as ‘released’ have signed new contracts.

It seems the main thing you've missed is that Sky Sports are shit and couldn’t care less about us.

Baba confirmed. Would imagine he goes straight into the team on Sunday.

So likely just a midfielder and possibly a striker to come in from the free agent pool.

Quite surprised Holmes hasn’t been picked up by Canada yet.

So - if I am getting this correct then the permitted players are as follows:

GKs

Lumley
Bouzanis

DEF

Holmes
Hutchinson
McIntyre
Dann
Yiadom
Guinness-Walker
Rahman
Sarr
Moore

MID

Hendrick
Ince
Ejaria
Fornah
Loum
Hoilett

ATT

Joao
Long
Meite
Azeez

I'm not sure if Tetek counts as he is under 21. If he does then that makes 22 players.

So if goes out on loan, we still actually have 4 spots that we could fill - budget restrictions allowing. Am probably missing someone though as sure Ince said we had 3 spots left, so 2 now and 3 if Tetek moves out.

Tetek has started 3 games at this level so I think that means he counts.

Depending on how the EFL determine ‘equivalent’ levels Melvin-Lambert might count perhaps as he’s started games in the top division of Irish football.

Ince is going to have to stop picking four CBs soon or we'll be playing a side exclusively containing defenders.

We can't be paying much to Chelsea for Rahman. Sarr signed a four year deal which gives him security and it might becthat his wages increase each year. Ways and means.

We’re either paying them less than £16 million in total or we’re going to find those 12 points turning negative…,
Although as Bowen said it isn’t actually possible for us to exceed the wage cap .

Yeah precisely, unless the EFL completely drop the ball, they stopped us signing Naby Sarr for a month because it would have taken us slightly over our wage budget after all.
