Added to the £270m spent in the window, its been quite an expensive few months!

What should be absolutely celebrated here is an English born manager taking one of the top jobs in European football.

Sutekh
Whore Jackie
Sanguine As much as I agree that it might be a dodgy role to take, you can't turn down Chelsea really, a Champions League club, and not least when I'm sure Potter will have in mind the England job at some point/when Southgate is done.

Some suggestion that Mac Allister will follow Potter to Chelsea during the mid-season window.

I believe that would be their first Scottish player since Pat Nevin?

*Know he's Argentinian, but his surname always makes me chuckle. And, of course, Billy Gilmour, now ironically at Brighton.

Macallister has brothers called Kevin and Francis both are also footballers. A Kevin McAllister played 106 league games for Chelsea in the late 80s….

Would have been more if his parents hadn't forgotten him that time they went to Paris

FA Cup 2nd round at Bootham Crescent in December 2001 I think. Reading lost 2-0 and for the second season in a row they were dumped out of the competition by York City (the previous season they lost 5-3 on aggregate  ).

Following the game, Reading were only beaten once more that season (by 3-1 at Brighton).

I was at that game. It was a fcuking dreadful performance. We just couldn't be arsed.

I missed the first goal having suffered the aftermath of the worst burger ever made. The away end bog was like an upright concrete coffin.

The open air bogs were awful. Was that the game where it absolutely pissed it down for a bit? Think I went to that ground 2 or 3 times and they've all merged into one disappointing dirge in my memory.

I think the downpour may have been the year before when we drew 2-2 but, as you say, all visits there merge into one. Having said that, my mate had a Fiji flag with Suva Royals written on it for a laugh and I remember someone commenting that he could have brought the weather with him.

My abiding memory was having the shits and sitting in what looked like a classic backwoods out house, thankful that someone hadn't nicked the toilet roll, so you may be right.

I think the worst bogs I ever used were at Home Park in the 88. Open air, naturally, Horizontal rain for 90 minutes so you practically swam to the the urinal, which was a chest high wall with chicken wire above, so you're standing there having a piss as bemused dog walkers passed by in the adjacent park.
