RG30 FSG put the club up for sale

Is how some are reporting it. Wording of their statement suggests they might just be looking for new investment to complement their own.

RG30 FSG put the club up for sale

No one seems quite sure, Spirit of Shankly, the supporters group at Liverpool has asked the club for clarification as they would expect to be involved in any negotiations. Basically FSG are quoted as saying:

FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool.

FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.

And that’s basically just saying that they’re looking for more investment rather than an outright sale. Of course if more investment is main thing then that can lead to arguments and ultimately falling outs behind the scenes if things aren’t negotiated and agreed properly so it all might get a bit concerning for the club and supporters soon.

Sanguine So in their last six they have beaten Napoli, City, Ajax, West Ham and Spurs. And lost to Forest and Leeds.

Who knows what lies ahead for Klopp's team - they should have plenty to finish at least 4th and make a run at all three cup competitions. Pretty friendly fixture list now. Derby and Southampton before the World Cup, and then Villa, Leicester and Brentford immediately following - and with Mo Salah putting his feet up, and Diaz and Jota injured and expected back after the tournament. Should be five wins.

Will be interesting to see how the WC affects things

That's exactly what the statement sent. Liverpool fans seem to be think they are getting oil money and a bottomless pit of cash. Personally I was hoping Mike Ashley buys the shares.

Interesting* developments at Liverpool where both Sporting Director Julian Ward, and Director of Research Ian Graham have resigned. Both were close to the departed Michael Edwards, but Ward only took the role from Edwards earlier this season. Both will leave in the summer.

Rumours that a London-based outfit that wear blue may be reuniting the trio elsewhere, Edwards have been linked with Stamford Bridge for some time.

With senior members at FSG also stepping back, this might suggest that the sale of the club is more progressed than the Americans have admitted.

Liverpool are rumoured to be negotiating a pre-contract agreement with Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.

Transfer window deals have started already.

The ‘pool have beaten ManU and Arsenal to Dutch international Cody Gakpo who has joined Liverpool on a 6 year deal for a reported £37m.

Liverpool are now reported to be talking to see whether they can do January deals for Sofyan Amrabat, Enzo Fernandez and Hirving Lozano while also being heavily linked to Milan Skriniar, Moises Caicedo, Elfjin Elmas and the not to be forgotten Jude Bellingham.

I think he's a decent signing; goalscoring winger, 23. Could be the man to fill Salah's boots.

Typical Liverpool signing as well. Not from one of the big, big European clubs and, at £37m not breaking the bank.

Rises to £44m I think with various add-ons etc. still not a bad price at that.

Almost as good as the Oxlade and Naby Keïta deals.

Two real duds amongst a sea of trophy-winning signings, Klopp has a fantastic record with the chequebook.

Hard to keep track of the Fernandez rumours, everyone linked to him, but seems Chelsea now the favoured destination for the Argentinian.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that IMO Oxlade-Chamberlain was far from a dud.

He was a pivotal player in that original Champions League run Liverpool had to the final under Klopp. It's fair to say he never regained those heights again after the injury he sustained in the semi final but he gave LIverpool something they didn't have at the time which was the ability to run at players in the midfield area. Reckon that season alone probably just about repaid the 35m fee. Also easy to forget that he was shaping up as a key member of Roy Hodgson's England team too until that injury.

Keita has been a total bust. Seemed unable to handle the expectation and transfer fee and is a shadow of the player he looked in the Bundesliga.

Would agree on that. That injury for the Ox seems to have finished his career at the very top level.

Keith seems to have had a lot of niggly injuries and never quite got a real run in their team necessary for him to capitalise. Certainly think it’s best for both to move on.
