AthleticoSpizz Preposterous nonsense….just leave as is.

Exactly. It’s not really broken is it? Trouble is that’s the sort of thing FIFA likes to fix….

I'd argue that given all the time wasting that goes on, often unpunished or unaddressed, it is broken.

It gets punished and addressed though……
There are way more significant things to deal with in the game, one’s actually need deal8ng with.

Royal Rother This feels like discussions on here 20 years ago about goal line technology and then what became VAR.

So many people stuck in the past, unable to see what is obviously going to happen.

OF COURSE timekeeping is going to change in football, with time in play being paramount, eliminating time wasting and all this outdated 90 mins plus added time nonsense.

Like it or not it is just a matter of the finer points of how and when.

Why is ‘time in play’ paramount ?
How woukd changing the way you keep time eliminate timewasting (it woukdn’t have an impact on Joe Lumley’s favourite tactic) ?
Playing to an exact countdown would simply change the way teams kill time. I have no interest in every game ending with a 2 minute huddle by the corner flag.
The ‘stop the clock’ thing is nothing to do with improving the game, it’s all about finding more room for ad breaks on TV. If you want to watch Shopping Channels with the odd bit of sport thrown in the Americans have that covered. Football was never a sport where decisions are better if made down to millimetres or milliseconds…..

Two different issues being talked about though.

One is saying having a change where the clock is stopped every single time the ball is dead.

The other is saying have the 4th official in change of time added on, and have them stop the game when the time is up, rather than playing on to the referee's discretion so he can avoid blowing the whistle at a moment which would lead him to potentially be criticised.

(although it has to be said, not really relevant to the game v Swansea)

Meanwhile back on topic

Generally Swansea fans aren't too bothered by Reading although Lumley and time wasting gets a bit of a mention as well as the ref being a bit of a homer. They're more concerned by their own shortcomings (though that was not helped as both Obafemi and Ntcham were ill and unavailable for selection) and mirror Russell Martin's post match comments (wonder if he'll be a favourite to take over at Norwich).

Did seem odd for people who utterly flopped at the WC to try and windup others who actually had a very decent tournament….

Swansea are Frenchless, the two players you might think are French, Joel Piroe and Joel Latibeaudiere, are Dutch and English respectively. The closest they have is possibly Matthew Sorinola who is English but on loan from Belgian club Union SG.

Cheers, so just small minded inferiority complex trying to be passed off as “bants” that doesn’t come across as pathetic at all then.

Twice. They aren’t very good are they? No Championship cakewalk for them this season.

What a whiney, bitter, deluded lot of fans they are. Some if not the majority of comments are just pathetic.

Usual about us ie crap, rubbish, how can we pay Carroll that much, tinpot, should be beating Reading etc….

But it’s the…

Ref cheated us, should of had a ref card, obvious another penalty, never a penalty for us, not allowing them to have a corner when time is up and 3 mins only of added time.

Not just one user, the lot of them. It’s like a feeding frenzy across all sites.

No offence my carrot munching friends, but Holmes' foul was no more a red card and clear goalscoring opportunity than Hanley's in the first few minutes. Plenty of defenders nearby. In fact, Hanley's was closer to goal so nearer the mark (but still yellow). Think you'd have done as well with 10 for 85 minutes? I don't.

And our pen was nailed on. Defender got clumsily close behind NGW and caught his back leg. Don't want to give away a pen? Defend better.

Holmes in the box... bit of contact challenging for the ball, it'd be very soft to give it. Maybe if VAR shows it to the ref in super slow mo from a reverse angle so it looks far worse... but you aren’t in the PL these days sweeties.

Norwich fans have always struck me as abnormally arrogant. They think the league would be a walkover but are only a few points above being 16th in the table.

Agree they never really have a bad season they slump to 5th in the league and want the manager out. The parachute payments carry to next season will go up then instead. If not the playoffs this season.
Try spending a season in our shoes!

Within 10 days they’d poached Colchester’s manager and the rest is history as they say. Some audition for the job from Paul Lambert! Allan Russell (who?) that’s how it’s done.

Read their forum. A lot are more peed off with their manager. A few insist that Longs penalty shouldn't have been given and the ref screwed them out of a win. The ref was awful for both sides.

A group of their fans on the bus back to the park & ride had that attitude, going on about how they ref had robbed them of victory etc

I was almost overcome with sympathy for them.
