HoundNamelessHound Yeah doubt we are well under budget either considering it took a while to sort out AC and Mbengue
We’re probably fairly comfortable given the unbudgeted cup income…..
Not rolling in cash, but that game will have made a significant difference given we were going to meet our commitments anyway.
Don’t we just have a set wage budget for the season? Would the cup income affect this?
I know you’ve read up on this a bit more than me but it thought we had a set 16m limit regardless of gates or transfer fees received
Nothing is ‘set’. The restrictions we were under on day 1 have been relaxed in several respects as our books have been brought back into shape. The cup income will improve our FFP performance, and whether we hit the business plan we agreed with the EFL. The £16 million wage budget isn’t set as a ‘punishment’, it was what theEFL and club agreed we could afford. So if we improve our income it woukd be reasonable to at least be able to consider stretching the wage budget. Whether that would be prudent is open to question, but the whole th8ng is an ongoing discussion.
